Maleficent sat in a crumpled mess under her covers. Many people would think she was being dramatic, but she had just lost her brother. Sure they weren't biologically related, but they were still like siblings. They were the only two dark magic users in the group. And now there was only one...
Her.
She didn't want it to be her, she wanted it to be them. She wanted to go out on late night walks with him again, write poems about the moon, watch scary movies, and hang out with him.
She had tried every possible spell to bring him back, and nothing worked.
She asked Hades to let her see him. He said he was in a better place.
At least he was safe...
She could remember that day in perfect detail,
It was a normal day in the Masters of Magics class 4th period. Morgie was sitting next to her. They were talking about dragons and snakes. Their two favorite topics.
Morgie's books were set off to the side and his notebook was open wide. There were doodles everywhere on the page. Maleficent's books were open and she was fiddling around with a spark of dark magic in her hand.
The teacher, Mr White was droning on and on about uses of magic and how they shouldn't be used for greed.
After he was done he asked the students to present their homework last night. They were supposed to make spells of their own.
He went in alphabetical order. Lily Allan went first. Her spell was a mirage of a storm. The next kids spell was the summoning of a small black smoke demon.
This process continued for a bit. There were a few spells that intrigued her, but not to the point of paying actual attention.
Finally the teacher called her name. She sat up and muttered the spell strongly, dark magic swirling in her hands. A dragon appeared over her head and roared loudly, shooting fake blasts of fire around.
The teacher nodded approvingly and a few kids clapped. Morgie bumped her shoulder. "Nice job Mal." He murmured. She smiled wickedly at him. "Thanks Morgs."
A few turns later the teacher finally called Morgie's name. He sat up excitedly. He said his spell.
Before she knew it everything went wrong in a matter of seconds.
Instead of doing what the spell was fashioned to do a large explosion of dark magic erupted from Morgie. He screamed in terror, falling out of the chair and clutching his head.
His screams were horrifying...
She sat there not knowing how to react...
She was frozen in fear...
After a moment she rushed to grab her spell book and started trying to stop the magic.
It didn't work. The magic was still erupting from him and surrounding him in an overbearing sphere.
She could barely hear his weak words over the magic.
"I-IT HURTS, P-PLEASE I DON'T WANNA DIE...!" He begged silently to anyone who was listening.
She collapsed crying next to him and tried to pull him out of the dark magic.
The magic burnt her and she screamed in agony.
Then the magic stopped. Morgie was shaking and crying and looked traumatized. Maleficent tried to jump up and hug him.
It was only the calm before the quiet.
He reached out for her, but just as he did he exploded into nothingness...
His screams echoed through the room. The other people in the room all seemed traumatized.
Maleficent started sobbing quietly into her pillow. She was swallowed by heartbreaking, gut wrenching grief. Only one thought was on her mind.
'Why him...?'
He was so innocent, and so so sweet. He was the kindest villain ever. Why him...?
K, so Maleficent's POV of the situation. I think I did good, feel free to criticize me in the comments. I did try my best though. I hope you all liked it!
