I was woken up by a maid gently knocking on my door.

"Miss Delia, It's time to get up," She walks in and over to my curtains. She pulls them open, allowing sunlight to spew in.

"What time is it?" I ask.

"It's ten in the morning, Miss."

I shoot up from my bed. "Ten?!"

"Yes, Miss."

Oh no! I overslept!

I push my covers to the side and quickly get up.

"It's okay, Miss," the maid reassures me. "Ten is when everyone usually wakes up, besides Mr. Fentocceksi who gets up a five."

Relief washes over me. I place my hand on my chest to steady my beating heart. "Thank god."

The maid walks over to me and places a hand on my back. "Come, Miss, we must get you all washed up," She leads me to the bathroom and starts the shower. "I'll grab your clothes and a towel for you while you get in," she then walks away.

I get out of my pajamas and stick my arm into the shower to check the water's temperature. My body jumps at the ice-cold water coming out of the showerhead.

I quickly pull my arm out. But when I go to make the shower warmer the maid stops me.

"Don't, Miss Delia. Morning showers are supposed to be cold so you can be awake quicker," she says behind me. "Best get in so you won't be late for breakfast."

I quickly step into the cold water, gasping when I'm fully under it. I reach over and grab the shampoo that's sitting on a little shelf in the shower. It's lavender-scented, just like all of the other soaps in my shower.

Interesting.

Once I'm all washed up, I get out of the shower and get dressed in the yellow sundress the maid left out for me. I dry my hair with a blow dryer that sits on the counter, and when I'm all ready, I walk out into my room to find the same maid making my bed.

"Ready to go down to breakfast, Miss?" The maid asks.

"Yes," I reply.

I follow the maid down the stairs and into the dining room where the same group of men, Francesco, and Delio are waiting.

"Ah there she is, " Francesco says as I sit down. "I thought you wouldn't wake up in time."

"Not to worry, I am up," I say with a smile.

The men on the other side of the table laugh as they whisper to each other.

"What so funny?" Francesco asks them.

"Nothing boss," one man says. "Jus' talkin' about last night," he starts to laugh again.

"Well keep it away from me and my morning coffee," Francesco takes a sip from his mug.

"Would you like some?" I look up to see Delio holding a coffee pot and an empty mug.

"Yes," I say.

"How do you like your coffee?" He asks.

"Black," I reply.

"No sugar?" He asked holding up a sugar cube.

"Nope."

"Okay..." He hands me the mug and I take a sip of the dark liquid. It's warm and bitter, just the way I like my coffee.

"Anything planned for the day boss," one of the men asks.

"Yes," Francesco says, "Training."

The men groan.

"Stop your whining or I won't let you go out tonight."
