👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾We walked into Sally's,and the familiar cozy atmosphere enveloped us,immediately lifting our mood. The aroma of freshly brewed coffe and baked goods filled the air, making my stomach growl with hunger.
I realized I was actually looking forward to grabbing a snack and chatting with my friends, pushing thoughts of Alexander to the back of my mind. We settled into our favorite corner table, and Sophia immediately started telling us about her latest drama with her family.
Ethan, Liam, Carson, and I listened intently, giggling and offering words of encouragement. For a while, it felt like old times, like Alexander's return hadn't shaken everything up. But as I glanced around the coffee shop, I couldn't help but wonder if he might walk in, if our paths would cross again so soon.
As Sophia finished her story, Ethan said, "Well, at least your family drama is always entertaining!"
Sophia playfully rolled her eyes. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here!"
Liam chimed in, "Speaking of which, has anyone seen any new movies lately? I'm dying for some recommendations."
Carson suggested a few, and we chatted about movies for a bit.
After a while, I glanced at my phone and realized we'd been at Sally's for hours. "Guys, I'm so sorry, but I really should get home. My mom is probably wondering where I am."
Sophia nodded in agreement. "Yeah, me too. My mom will kill me if I'm late for dinner again."
We all laughed, gathered our things, and headed out of Sally's, chatting and joking as we walked to our cars.
As we said our goodbyes, Ethan mentioned, "Hey, we should do this again soon, maybe at my place?"
We agreed, and I drove Sophia home, dropping her off with a promise to text her later.
As I drove away, I couldn't shake the feeling that Alexander's return was only the beginning of a whirlwind of changes in our lives.
I arrived at home, expecting a quiet evening alone with my mom. But what awaited me was not what I was expecting at all. As I got inside the house, I could hear talking in the living room. When I got closer, I saw Alexander and his parents sitting on our couch, chatting with my mom. My eyes widened in shock.
"Mia, finally! We've been waiting for you so we could have dinner," my mom said, beaming, as she saw me coming in. I just stood there, too shocked to form an answer.
"Well, are you gonna stand there or are you gonna join us for dinner?" my mom asked, laughing wryly.
I stuttered, "Uhhh, yeah... just give me a minute to put my books in my room." I didn't wait for her answer and quickly went upstairs to my room, trying to process what was happening.
A minute later, I heard a knock at my door. "Come in," I said, thinking it was probably my mom coming to check on me or scold me.
But to my surprise, it was Alexander who walked in, his expression unreadable. "Mia," he said curtly. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
I nodded, still trying to process what was happening. Why was Alexander in my house?
"What is it?" I asked, trying to sound calm.
Alexander closed the door behind him and sat down on my bed, his eyes scanning my room with a hint of disdain. "I didn't plan on running into you like this," he said, his voice cold. "But since we're both here, I might as well tell you that I'm back in town. For good."
