Michael may only be seven, but he knew enough to see he messed up, big time. He never met for that to happen- thank God Evan got out with a mere scrape. But he still messed up nonetheless. He almost killed his own brother.... the thought itself was sick and twisted beyond compare. Michael felt sick just thinking about it.
Evan sat in the passenger seat, blankly staring at Mr. Fredbear as William drove. Michael hated it, he wanted to apologize but the silence was heavy. Anytime he tried his breath caught in his thought. Even his ever so chatty sister, Elizabeth was dead silence. Quiet glares of anger reflected in emerald eyes.
It was deathly and anxiously quiet. No one dared to speak, in fear of upsetting each other and Father. Michael had no idea how he would explain to Father, and admittedly he was scared. The car ride was all of ten minutes, yet Michael was both revealed and dreaded when it was done.
William silently stopped the car, turning off the engine and getting out. Everyone silently followed, Father was not to be triffled with when upset. Even Elizabeth knew that. Silently the band of four went inside, and William broke the silence. "Evan, Elizabeth, go to your rooms. I'll be up shortly." His tone was stern and left no room for fighting. Evan and Elizabeth nodded and silently went up, Elizabeth shooting Michael one last livid glare over her shoulder.
At first it was quiet, William tidied up the counter as Michael waited in silent expense. After what felt like years of silent tension. William spoke. "I expected better of you." No yelling, no curses, just blunt disappointment. It made Michael want to disappear and never be seen again. Michael hung his head ashamed, but knew better than to argue. William ignored the obivious shame and continued. "You nearly killed him. You nearly killed your own brother." Michael flinched, but William paid no mind.
William turned around, his hands clasped behind his back. "Well? What's your sob story this time? What excuse will you try to get yourself out of trouble?" William looked on expectantly, but this time. Michael had no excuse, he couldn't think of one. And he didn't want to either.
Instead he finally spoke, quietly and full of shame. "I'm sorry..." Michael closed his eyes, awaiting whatever came in store for him. William walked over, placing his hand on Michael's shoulder.
"And that fixes everything?" William almost snarled, but kept his composer, barely. Michael meekly shook his head, nothing was excused. Nothing was fixed. William stared for a moment, it felt like ages. Michael fought not to squirm underneath that cold dead stare. Finally William spoke. "Get in the car. I'll be there in a moment." Michael was shocked by the sudden change. But he didn't dare question it. He silently went out in the car, and got in the backseat.
Meanwhile William went upstairs, checking on both of his children. Helping Evan put a bandaid on the scrape, before telling the five year old. "Don't worry, I promise you. Michael will never do such a thing ever again." Evan nodded, wiping his tears. William pressed a quick kiss to the crown of his head and reassured Elizabeth the same. Before getting in the car and driving off.
Michael looked out the window for a hint, a sign, something. But William stopped at a warehouse first. Michael hesitantly got out, and so did William. Without a word William snagged Michael's arm and dragged him inside. Michael was undeniably anxious and worried. Father has never done such a thing before.
William stopped at an elevator, throwing Michael on his hands and knees infront of it. "Get in." Was the only instructions. Michael hesitated but listened. William entering alongside him. Pressing one of the only buttons. One that went down. They stood in silence. Until abruptly the elevator stopped. Causing Michael to stumbled and almost fall.
It was a vent, a single lone vent with the cover off. "Get in." William instructed coldly. And Michael hesitantly listened, crawling inside the dark space. William crouched down. And took the cover.
Michael's eyes widened immediately. "W-wait! P-please-" William put on the cover before he could finsih. Screwing it place before standing back up. Michael peered through the grids with teary eyes. And William spared him one last glance before hitting the up button.
