Maya's pov :

He found a chain near the entrance. It was familiar to me, but I couldn't place where I'd seen it before. Where??

When we returned, I was shocked to see the location. We were behind the temple. But who had kidnapped me?

Back at the palace, he draped a red dupatta over my face and body, shielding me from view. Who was he trying to protect me from?

So many questions!

The palace was unrecognizable. It was empty, desolate, with everything in ruins. Why was it like this?

Rupa came rushing toward me, her worried face lighting up with relief when she saw me. I hugged her tightly, clinging to the only familiar comfort I had left.

"Where is Suhana didi? Where is my Khushi?"

"They are busy now. You can meet them after having some food. Rupa, go and bring her some food."

Rupa nodded without a word. Rudra left the room, and I followed Rupa. I gulped down water quickly, having gone without for two days. She swiftly brought me food, and I devoured it like a starving monkey finding a banana.

Rudra came in while I was eating. He waited patiently until I finished.

"Mujhe pata hai tumhen kisne apaharan kiya hai... aao tumko use milana hai," he said softly.

["I know who kidnapped you. Come, you need to meet him."]

Fear and excitement churned within me. Who was this person? Why did he kidnap me? Did he want money? I didn't have a single penny. Why put me through such torture? As I stood up, my legs trembled. The thought of confronting him filled me with a mix of dread and resolve.

He thought of killing me.. the gnawing hunger, and the cold fear. He would feel my pain. I would make sure of it. I make him not having food for days either.

I clenched my fists, trying to steady my breath. The palace around me felt like a strange, desolate place, but with Rupa and Rudra by my side, I felt a glimmer of hope. I would face this. I would get my answers.

" Usse lekar Avo "

[ Bring him ]

An old man came walking in, limping. His face struck a chord of familiarity... wait, was it really him?

The guard removed the mask from the man's face. It was none other than

Gurudev.

My shock was profound. Gurudev, the man who guided us, the one who raised Rudra. Why would he try to kill me?
