The kiss was everything a first kiss should be... soft, slow and long... As their mouths slotted together again and again, their souls found it's other half.

Karishma Singh was lying on the living room sofa. Haseena Mallik was lying flush on top of her. They had been in this position for the better part of the last hour.

They had also been kissing for most of that time.

The initial kisses were modest. A tentative exploration filled with nervous excitement, pausing several times to make sure that it was real, that the other person was comfortable. Since this was their first kiss, it had seemed appropriate to keep it chaste... except they couldn't really stop themselves. Once they crossed over from longing to belonging, it's the only way they wanted to be.

One of them joked about something... the other laughed out... they arrested each other's gazes... one leant forward again... a small peck... they shared meaningful smiles... another small peck... and soon their lips were locked together again.
The kiss deepened. A tongue tip poked out tentatively, seeking permission. Mouth opened wider, granting permission. Fingers curled around hairs... cupped faces... fists tightening on clothes. Caution gave way to daring. Hesitation was overpowered by passion. Tongues and teeth entered the game and the two women spent many long minutes devouring each other.

It was only when their lungs protested the lack of oxygen that they finally parted.
The fire within dimmed into a warm sated glow and breathing heavily, they settled in each other's arms.

Karishma's fingers lightly scratched the whispy hairs on Haseena's neck. Haseena lay with her head resting on Karishma's chest, playing with Karishma's shirt button.

Several quiet peaceful minutes passed before Haseena said, 'Kaafi late ho rahi hain, Ammi tension karengi. Humein ghar jaana chahiye.'
She made no attempt to move though.

Displeased, Karishma tightened her hug. 'Aaj raat humare paas ruk jaiye na,' she whined.

Haseena raised her head and gave Karishma a suspicious look. 'Pehle date par hi humko raat guzaarne ka invitation de rahi hain! Karishma ji aapka iraada kya hain?'

Karishma sighed dramatically. 'Button aap humare khol rahi hain, aur sawaal uthaya jaa raha hain humare iraado par! Wah re duniya!'

Haseena stopped fidgeting with the shirt button she had unconsciously opened and slapped Karishma lightly on the chest. 'Shakal se kitni innocent, aur akal se kitni badmaash hain aap Karishma,' she complained.

Karishma grinned, not bothering to deny the accusation. She placed a kiss in Haseena's hair.

Haseena lay her head back on Karishma's chest and mumbled into her sternum, 'Ruk jaate lekin Ammi humse thodi naraaz hain. Kal woh Khala ke ghar chali jaye usse pehle unhe manana hoga...... Aur kuch bohot zaruri baat bhi karni hain.'

Haseena felt Karishma stiffen under her, the vibe had changed immediately. Haseena looked up and found Karishma staring at the ceiling. 'Kya baat hain?' she inquired.

Karishma swallowed hard. 'Ammi ka gussa hona laazmi hain. Aap apna sagai ka shopping chhor kar kisi aur ke saath coffee par—'

Haseena did not let her finish. With panicked eyes, she scrambled to sit up. 'Aapko kaise— Ammi se baat huyi hain aapki?'

Karishma slowly dragged herself up to a seating position.

'— ek minute! Cheetah ne kaha tha aapka koi call aya tha jiske baad aap pareshan hokar nikal gayi thi!! Woh call... Ammi ne kiya tha?'

Karishma didn't have to give an answer, the look on her face spoke volumes. A sense of heaviness settled upon her. She had been so caught up in her new found happiness that she had conveniently forgotten a major pain point. Now she was just reminded of the possibility that she might not be the only one in Haseena's life.
