Yeah, so Heather was acting pretty strange. She seemed frustrated by something I had no clue about, which made me even more curious. Sophie, on the other hand, was even more jumpy than usual, joking around with her.

But Heather did not seem very keen on laughing, and instead went for an awkward, small smile after Sophie made countless jokes.

"Why did the homeless man audition for Spiderman?"

"Cause he had No Way Home!" She giggled, which made me raise an eyebrow.

"Isn't that a little toxic, Soph?" I asked, clearly seeing with Heather's glance at Sophie that she agreed with my every word. Sophie, being the careless girl she was, shrugged and made yet another, stupid joke.

She then saw Heather's headphones.

Let me tell you one thing about Sophie Lynch, the fun girl everyone thinks she is.

Private stuff and space? Yeah, she doesn't believe in that stuff. And she grabbed the headphones with a laugh, putting them on and doing a small dance to the music which was currently playing.

Sophie used physical contact and borrowing as a sign of affection and friendship, but that was clearly not the same for Heather. She seemed disturbed and looked embarrassed as she politely requested for the Lynch to give her the headphones back.

"Aw, why? This is so good! And you're such a good musician as well! Did you make this?" Sophie asked in awe, not making any attempt to give Heather her headphones back.

Yeah, maybe a little excessive, Soph.

"Lynch, give her the headphones back." I ordered, hands in my pockets out of awkwardness of how else to use them.

Sophie let out a groan of annoyance, before handing the headphones back. Heather looked extremely uncomfortable, but she didn't say anything bad about Sophie.

Finally, she did speak, but neither me or Sophie expected it.

"Are you two together?"

Sophie spat out the water she was drinking, and I just stopped in my tracks and stared at Heather with the most are-you-insane look ever.

"What?! Hell no!" Sophie screeched.

"So you two are just... really close friends who hug and hold hands?" Heather asked as if she had never experienced it.

Sophie chuckled, "I mean, friends do that, but we..."

"We're cousins." I finished.

Silence. Complete silence. Clearly Heather hadn't expected that.

"But your second names... they're both different?" She asked puzzledly. Sophie chuckled and answered her question with an excessive flick of her wrist, "Pshaw, that happens all the time. My Dad is a Lynch."

"And her Mom my Father's sister." I replied, "So, her Mom decided to change her name to her husband's, and give Sophie the Lynch name as well. But, the rest of our family are Parks. Like me. And I have my Dad's name."

"That... makes sense."

Heather looked embarrassed. Then I realized that she had thought that me and Sophie were together. Based on how we acted and how we didn't have very similar looks, I would've thought the same if I was her.

Wait a minute.

I may be wrong... but was Heather sort of... jealous?
