I could barely sleep that night. I tossed and turned but nothing could rid my mind of the excitement I was feeling, after all these years I've actually got a girlfriend. There was another thought that was less optimistic.
'You can't let this distract you from school work' A small voice in my head pointed out 'And you should distract her from school work as well, it wouldn't be fair on her.' To be fair, that's true, we need to take things slow, and prioritise our futures right now.
The next day, I woke up early, which is normal for me, and I headed to the common room area after getting dressed. I was one of the first up, but there were some also having breakfast. Personally, I don't like eating too early in the morning so I just decided to kill so me time by checking my phone.
Soon enough, it was time and we all left the dorm building and headed to the school building. We all settled in and Aizawa began talking
"Today, you will be choosing your hero names, be careful, there's a good chance it will stick even when you become a Pro so choose wisely" he said in his normal stoic demeanour "When you are all done you will present to the class"
Immediately, I knew what i was going to choose, so I wrote it down on the whiteboard. Some people decided to present theirs first, Ojiro had the name Tailman, Kaminari had the name ChargeBolt and so on so forth
Then it was my turn to present. I made my way up to the front and held my whiteboard so everyone can see.
"My name is Wolverine" I say proudly, I catch a glimpse of Yaoyorozu, and she instantly starts blushing when we make eye contact
Aizawa speaks up "Wolverine huh? If I'm not mistaken, that was your father, the Pro Hero"
"Yeah, I want to honour his memory" I say, surprised he remembers him
"Living up to his legend will be tough, he was a good pro and had lots of potential. But I believe you can live up to that one day" He says with a sense of support in his tone
"Thank you sir" I say before heading back to my seat.
Everyone eventually presented their choice, except Bakugo because Aizawa didn't exactly approve of the name 'Lord Explosion Murder'
"Anyways, Class 1-A has been invited to the USJ to practice on how to work in events such as natural disasters" Aizawa spoke again "So meet me outside on the bus"
Everyone started filing out of the class, excited to do training that doesn't focus on fighting or villains
It took around 20 minutes to get there, and once we did, Pro Hero Thirteen gave us a tour.
Just as we were going to start, a purple smoke appeared at the central plaza, everyone seemed confused when people started walking out but it soon became obvious who they were
Villains
Thirteen and Aizawa told us to stay back, and to avoid confrontation. So Aizawa went to deal with the bulk of villains while Thirteen stayed with us. However a villian, with the same purple smoke used the smoke to surround us. Thirteen tried using their quirk, Black Hole, on then but the villain made a portal so they used their quirk on themself
Then, I felt the sensation of falling, then I appeared in a rainy city landscape. I see Tokoyami and Koda near me. They must have separated us into separate areas of the USJ. I see a large group of Villains starting to surround us and we prepare for battle. Tokoyami uses Dark Shadow and while they are distracted, I attack, making sure not to leave lethal wounds, only scratches or not stabbing too deep.
After a while, we finish off the group and we find the exit. I can see Aizawa in the centre being pinned down by this huge monstrous, bird like creature that has it's brains exposed. While it is distracted with Aizawa I pounce on it from behind, stabbing it as many times as I can.
The creature grabs me by the leg and flings me into the ground, it tries stepping on me to crush me, but I hold it's foot up. As it applies more pressure, I'm not sure if I can hold on for much long.
I hear a voice, it comes from a man with long light blue hair and... hand? covering his face and on his body
"You jumped in to save your teacher's life while disregarding your own, how stupid, you never stood a chance against Nomu" The man taunts
That's when I heard the bang, I look to see the source of it and see that it's none other than All Might, and he looks pissed.
The Nomu puts all pressure onto me onto stomping me and my arms slip and it's foot connects with my head at full force, and that's when I black out and eventually I wake up in the school's medical room.
"What... happened" I say groggily
There's people around me , Aizawa, All Might, Yaoyorozu and a few others from 1-A. Aizawa tells me what happened
"You passed out when Nomu stomped on your head, All Might then beat it and the villains escaped with the villain that had the warping quirk" Aizawa explained "It's a miracle your alive really, not many people can withstand a 500 pound animal stomping on their head and only pass out"
"It's because I have a healing quirk" I say "It's lucky it happened to me and not anyone else, I should be fine by now" I say as I start to sit up
All Might speaks up "You risked your life today, Logan. You acted before you though, that is the true spirit of a hero"
A few minutes later, I get discharged and Yaoyorozu walks me back to the dorm
"I was worried, you know. I though you died at first" She says genuinely concerned
"If the Villains think that's all it takes to bring down Wolverine, they are sorely mistaken" I say with a smile to alleviate her overthinking
She smiles at me and she takes my hand in hers.
"Does anyone know about.. us?" I ask
"Not yet, Mina is starting to catch on but other than that no" She responds
"Alright then" I reply
When we open the doors to the dorm building, we lets go of each others hands and everyone rushes over to me from the common room
"Dude how are you still alive?" Kaminari asks
"I thought you died" Sato said
"It's a shame you missed All Might battering that thing, it was so cool" Mina said
We settle back down and we have dinner, by then the atmosphere is back normal. It starts getting late so we all head to our dorms
20 minutes later, I hear a knock on my door, I sigh and get up to see who it is. I open the door and it's Yaoyorozu, and she's in her pyjamas. I didn't expect her so all I had on was a pair of shorts on
"Logan, I couldn't sleep after today, is it ok if sleep here tonight?" She asks, a blush tainting her face
"Yeah sure" I open the door fully and she comes in.
I lie back down and she lies next to me. I wrap one of my arms round her tightly and we eventually fall asleep.
