Alejandra

Running through the dense forest, I led my team of Delta warriors alongside Damien and his team of Omegas. Our fur shimmered in various colors under the fading moonlight, blending into the early dawn as we moved in close proximity at a steady pace. I couldn't shake the unsettling thought that we hadn't encountered any rogues yet.

Damien, ever observant, picked up on my concern. "The monsters eat flesh, Ale. They go where the living are, towns, cities, anywhere people gather, like the school. We're in the forest, not many living beings around here,' he explained through the mind link we shared.

His explanation made sense, and I nodded, hastening our pace toward the school. We followed the devastated highway path on our right, marred by the recent earthquakes and the monsters' rampage. Cars lay in disarray, some billowing black smoke or charred from random fires. We avoided the wreckage but kept it in sight to guide us toward the town where the school was located.

One of the Omegas, a sleek gray wolf, whined lowly and mind-linked Damien. "Omega Warrior Damien, we're close to the town and the school."

Damien acknowledged the message and relayed it to me. "It's time to carry out the next step of the mission."

I sighed deeply as we slowed to a trot and then stopped. We shifted back into our human forms, and our special black leather one-piece suits with magical properties allowing for seamless transformations without ruining our clothes. These suits, developed with the help of a nature witch who aided the Moon Goddess centeries ago, protected our human forms and merged with us temporarily during our shifts.

Now, in human form, I frustratingly shook my arms to my sides, taking a tense stance. Damien pointed out lowly, "Ale, let my Omegas do their job. We don't have much time."

"I know what I must do, Dee," I growled. "Let's get on with it."

Damien nodded, then addressed his Omegas. "Come by and take in the scent that lingers on Delta Warrior Alejandra to help us find Adelin."

Each Omega approached me, inhaling deeply to learn the scent. I couldn't help but growl softly in frustration as they did.

"You should have marked Jules while in your room that night," Damien remarked. "That way, your wolf and instincts wouldn't be on high alert for leaving your mate unmarked."

The Omegas murmured in agreement.

I silenced them with a growling warning. They backed off, making room for one last Omega. She was shorter than Damien, with long blond hair tied back in a rolled-up braid in a tight bun. Her green eyes looked the least threatening of all. Hiding without much effort her true strength, only her scent alone would expose her true title if she so wished to expose her scent at will. She bowed to both Damien and me, waiting for orders.

I sighed again, then addressed the small Omega female. "Take a long, deep sniff. Your mission is to get Adelin as fast as you can without harming him and bring him back to the meetup point in the forest." I turned to the rest of the Omegas and added, "Your mission is to get as many of the other children and other survivors out safely while my Deltas fight off any threats." They all bowed, acknowledging their orders. I turned back to the Omega before me expectantly.
