Kate woke up in Gabriel's cabin. She was covered in some fur she couldn't remember the name.
She waited... Waited to feel Rafe's body against her, to feel he cuddled with her... Kate didn't feel any of that. She turned to the side the boy was supposed to be... Bed's empty. Cold even.
It couldn't be a dream, could it? How? She remembered vividly sleep next to him, his breath softening as he's drift to sleep. But Rafe wasn't there... Why? It didn't make any sense!

Kate got up from the bed looking for Rafe. He had to be around. She looked in the cabin, nothing. In the secret passage to the labyrinth and dwarves' land, nothing.
"He need to be outside." She was sure at this point. Open the door and there he was by the mini campfire.

Rafe had his eyes closed, face tilted to the sun like a plant doing photosynthesis. He was sitting on the ground with his back on a wooden log. He had something heating on the fire, Kate just saw a metal container. On top of the wooden log was his iconic long cloak and a... Knife?! Why would he have a knife right there? Cambridge Falls was quite calm! And now it would be much more without a Magnus!

Kate left the cabin and walked towards Rafe who was getting up. He had a feeling she was there. Rafe turned to her and Kate, not giving a second thought, ran to him, hugging him almost crying.

"My gosh, you're alive! I'm so... Relief and happy!"

Rafe instantly knew was she was talking about. The books were destroyed. Some magic was gone.

"Im alive and I'm here. With you." Rafe said lifting Kate's face for her eyes meet his. Rafe, after so many time, had a sincere smile on his face. With had the care in the world, Rafe put a strand of her behind Kate's ear and hold her face. He didn't do anything more, didn't want to mess with that moment, that happy moment he dreamed of for so long.

Kate held his hand also smiling. They were tired, sure, but happy that each other was all right.

Rafe leaned in for a kiss. A soft kiss full of love. A kiss that was waited for a hundred years.

"You waited a hundred years for this kiss as well?" Kate joked remembering what the boy had said the other night.

"Yes I did." Rafe chuckled. He had lived a hundred years fighting for his live, for others people's lives and in the last years for Kate's as well.

"Well... I've made tea! A British tea, tea with milk! Goat milk, sure, but people say it's good for you!" Rafe said remembering what he was doing. He sat down Kate and pour the hot tea with the milk in a mug and gave it to her. "Be careful, it's hot!"

"You wake up to do this?" Kate asked. It was a sweet gesture the sweetest Kate ever had.

"I was awake and thought you didn't eat probably yesterday, or any day before. So, I've made this." He said. Looked to the things he had there... Something was missing... "I hope you like cake! I'm pretty sure this boy have some around here!"

"This boy?"

"I mean... You know? Gabriel. I'm older than him, away older. I've watched him grow up and become what he is."

"Rafe... Gabriel's... He's dead."

Rafe stopped what he was doing. He knew. He knew the man who he called boy was dead. He kid he watched grow up... Wasn't a kid anymore. He was a man.
"I know he's..." Rafe cleared his throat. "He's dead. I... I was there. But we can't be sad our friends died in a war... They're lives and sacrifice were what made the war ended." Rafe talked like Dr. Pym... In a way. "I'm gonna get the cake!"

Rafe didn't like talking about the people who had pass, especially if they were close. He developed a way to cope with it. If he didn't talk or hear about the death it was like they never really died. After years and years of having to see close people die, it was the better way for him to cope.
