Ezra’s mind slowly became conscious as the first and only thing he sensed was the smell of the best day of his life. He felt the sensation of his head against the pillow and rolled over to find himself alone in the king sized bed. Ezra was puzzled but didn't worry much, there wasn't much to worry about anymore.. at least it felt that way right now.
He examined Kai's rooms from the comfort of the bed. Some surfer posters, one babe in a bikini, a few dream catchers and the ceiling had two exposed beams with a sky light above it. Kai had two boards stored on the beams, blocking some of the light. Ezra sat up and felt lightheaded, maybe the lack of food. He took a deep breath and centered himself.
Maybe it was more than just that.
He held in his breath and calmly breathed out. He felt a lot better, he learned that from his Dad and it was corny but honestly worked. Ezra hopped out of Kai's bed and started for the door when he realized he was naked. He looked around the room again and saw his shorts hanging over a chair, completely dry. He pulled them on and went through the house calling Kai's name, then William’s but to no response. He rushed outside carefully pushing the flimsy screen door of the modest beach house.
The sun was extremely bright and he had no idea what time it was but after his eyes adjusted he spotted two figures surfing in the distance, a short walk up the beach. Ezra assumed it was Kai and William as the beach was empty otherwise.
Ezra didn't rush his walk over to the guys, in fact he ran back to the house and found his own board in Kai's room and took it with him. As he carried his blue orchid blazed board, he walked in the wet part of the sand keeping his bare feet cool. The shush of the tide washing over his ankles. The horizon was a blue dream of pale turquoise meeting the ocean's reflection. Refreshing Ezras spirit, he barely felt the sore of yesterday's bails. The beach was empty except for the two figures in the distance, one was on the beach now and the other in the water surfing. Ezra couldn't tell who was who from this distance.
As he approached, the figure surfing came into shore and the two sat together. Ezra kept walking up calmly, and as they came better into focus Ezra realized the two bodies were intertwined. He wasn't completely sure but were they… kissing?
He got closer, the sun cast a shadow on their part of the beach. Both guys turned around and stood up as Ezra approached, brushing off the sand. A breeze brought a refreshing mist to his face as he looked upon the two incredibly sexy best friends.
Then it hit him.
Of course they are together, he assumed they were brothers, but he never actually asked Kai. They did live together as well and seemed thick as thieves.
Ezra decided to forget all of that. He had to stop drawing conclusions from nothing because the only evidence is that he is having a life changing time surfing with his new friends. He knew he liked being close to Kai. And when he kissed him..
“Ezra! I have to go see the big kahuna today!” Kai’s teeth shined in the lowlight. His smile is always a welcomed sight.
“Who's that?”
“ His ma.” William said, also lighting up a smile, his square jaw matching his broad shoulders.
“So I can't hang out for the next few hours, you'll have to learn how to surf from William for a while.”” Kai patted William in the back “but he's a great teacher.. well, surfer anyway.” Kai laughed and slapped Williams butt, which ended in William tackling Kai.
The two shirtless sandy guys wrestled in the shade for a few minutes before calming down. Ezra parked his board on the sand and relaxed in the shade, watching the tangled friends.
