(In this part they are ten and are elves and she goes by Lightspinner)

It was the nine hundredth year after Mara saved the Eithera, the first She-ra. In a small Elven village, they were preparing for a festival in her name.

"Noooo! I don't want to put bows in my hair," she says, ducking out of the way of y/n's arms. Her best friend and number one partner in crime, the only one she had told her secret to, but she shouldn't be thinking about that, there was a festival to be had and she had to get ready.

"Oh come on," y/n says with a dramatic sigh.

"You know I don't like bows," she says, crossing her arms.

"But they would go so well with your mask," y/n counters, holding the ruby red bows.

Her mask; she touches the elegant, maroon half mask softly. Depending on what you wear it  indicates what you want to be, she was training to be a sorcerer while y/n had a silver laurel on her head indicating that she would become a warrior.

"Fine, one bow," she says walking over"But you have to wear one too."

"Deal," y/n says, handing her a bow and pinning one in her hair.

The bows were ruby red and long, reaching almost to their shoulders, but it was customary to wear red, the color of mourning and new life during the festival.

Suddenly, y/n's mom pokes her head in. "Ladies, hurry up, it's about to start."

Her name was Moonwatcher, and the amount of times Lightspinner wished she could be her mom was infinite. Moonwatcher was cheerful and easygoing, the polar opposite of her mom. Her mom used to be that way but now... No, snap out of it, it's a festival day, it only happens once in a hundred years; best be happy.

"Ooh yes, we better hurry up if we want any glowberry cake before everyone eats it all," y/n says, taking her hand and jerking her back to reality.

"You're right, do you have your coins?" she asks. They had saved up all year for this. Y/n jangled her coin pouch.

"Okay then, let's go," she says and y/n nods in agreement.

This day would be the best, and no one could stop that. They stepped out of the house hand in hand and eagerly looked around; the small village was packed full of decorations and food stalls smelled so good, not to mention the games. For once she pushed all her feelings back and let herself be in the moment with her best friend.
