"See ya"

She handed the boxes to her co-worker as she made her way through the store toward the exit. Just when she felt good for finally finishing her long shift, she recalled the uni workload she has left to do.

Gosh, she really can't catch a breather ever since she started uni, especially with the reoccurring "situationships" she was trying to sort out between her friend and her 143rd man. It was almost as of she was her mother, scolding her for throwing herself out on stupid guys.

She just wished her friend would be more emotive when it comes to approaching romance, rather than just going on a hunt for a partner to just has the satisfaction of saying 'i have a boyfriend'.

Romance is so confusing, but y/n loved actual cute couples; she had always admired the sheer passion and feeling they'd share amongst each other. It was overwhelmingly pretty and it can mean many things to people: a goal, a meaning to life, an inescapable fate.

Y/n herself had it a couple times, obviously none of them ended well, not to anyone's fault really. Ever since, she never thought about romance for herself and only admired the concept of romance from afar along. She just loved the concept of 'emotion' and 'feeling' - it was coloured yellow and warm in her head.
Not necessarily interested in applying it to herself though.

With all these thoughts swirling in her head, she made her way out, noticing a familiar face. It was the sweet lady she usually assists in her cashier duties, a regular, and she was struggling to carry her groceries. Y/n liked her so much, she'd sometimes sneakily give her discounts and reduce prices, as the woman brightened her gloomy mornings as a cashier most of the time by always greeting her with a smile. Simple gestures always touch y/n immensely so she always tries to return the favour.
Without hesitation she rushed over and picked up as many bags as she can that she was carrying.

"Mrs, are you okay? Here, let me help you." she started, giving the woman a sympathetic look and a small sweet smile.

"Ohh, its you! Oh you're so sweet, oh dear I'm just struggling a bit today."

"What's got you to get all these groceries? Are you cooking something big? I know how much you love to cook, but this is alot!"
She said as they walked out of the area of the grocery shop and headed down the street.
It was pretty humid recently, the sun warmly kissing her skin, along with the many other people area such as the children playing about and the adults making barbeques in their front yard; the aroma making y/n hungry. Summer was THE season and it always felt y/n feel good even when her life felt so dry and dull, and she knew it was gonna be a good season again this year...
The area was on the outskirts of a city so the area they walked and habited looked sort of rural with still many city aspects.

"Ohh yes! I'm planning on cooking something huge, it's a really special day today. In fact... why don't you come over? you're always so sweet to me and here you are, after a hard day of work helping me with my shopping."
The woman chuckled wholeheartedly as they continued to stroll down the concrete path as y/n basically escorted her.

Y/n's face flushed by the compliment, already effected by simple sweet words.
"Oh no, don't worry, I just help because you're always making me feel better... and warmer at work. Besides, I wouldn't wanna be greedy and take food from this special day you speak of!"
She was curious on what this day was, but she felt way too shy to pry, even though the woman usually tended to be open with y/n, as if she knew her very well.
