You return like autumn and I fall all the time

Chapter 37

"Isn't it like noon there? I thought you had your medicine class from 11 am to 5 pm"  I say to him shifting the laptop on my lap,

"You've gotten familiar with the time zones haven't you?" Dakshith replies his voice breaking in between,

Stupid internet sucks,

"Dakshith don't tell me you're skipping your classes again?" I ask him, furrowing my eyebrows.

Dakshith- "I swear this is the last time sweetheart, I was just missing you a lot so I decided to face time"

Sanjh- "How will you become a doctor and cure people if you keep skipping college and classes like this?"

Dakshith- "Baby, college started only a week ago don't be so harsh on me."

Sanjh- "I know you just graduated high school from there and you looked the most handsome even among those Americans, but don't you want to be an even more handsome doctor?"

Dakshith sighs before saying "Okay I got it"
The smile on his face has been missing a lot lately,

I pull the screen closer to myself , angling it to a better position "How is your dad doing now love?"

"Better, he still has to go for regular checkups and needs someone to help him out with things every second"

"Oh, I hope he gets better." I say smiling hoping for him to smile back,

"Um I know you graduated high school this month but you know... I'm graduating two weeks later"

Dakshith - "Yes I'm aware of that"

"Um since your dad is also doing better now and I believe there are people to take care of him there so.."

Dakshith raises his eyebrows, "So?"

"So... Can you come back to visit me? Just for my graduation? You can go back After the farewell"

A slight chuckle left his mouth as he said "I knew you would say this"

I plead with my eyes again "Please just come see me then, it's been almost two years Dakshith"

Dakshith moved his screen a little far away from his face as he comfortably lay down on his bed "Are you missing me a lot?" He asks, mischief flickering in his tone.

"Of course I am," I say without hesitation

Dakshith- "Okay then I'll come to see you for your farewell"

I think my laptop could have broken if I had thrown it away so recklessly on the bed, but I'm lucky it didn't, I can jump in peace now,

"Are you that excited to see me?" Dakshith laughed off from the screen

"Of course I am" I quickly returned to bed, adjusting the laptop as I lay down,

"You should sleep now sanjh it must be around 1 am there in India"

He's right, it's 01:12 am here and I'm very sleepy.

"Can I fall asleep without cutting the call?" I ask.

"Of course, you can sweetheart," Dakshith says as he kisses his screen "Here's your goodnight kiss" I kiss back the screen of my laptop and say "I love you" softly before falling asleep.

What time is it?
I look up at my laptop to see,
The call ended seven hours ago, so it must be around 7.30 pm in California,
His classes end at 6.30,

Then why has he not texted me?
"He must be busy," I say to myself,
"But I'm his girlfriend, I can call him whenever I want" I reply to myself, picking up my phone and dialing for his number.
