Author's pov

The door slammed shut, a thunderous crack that seemed to split the night in two, echoing through the empty halls like a final judgment.

The sound hung in the air, sharp and unforgiving, much like Jungkook’s own fury.

Jungkook stood rigid in the center of the room, each breath seething through clenched teeth.

His hands were fists, knuckles bone-white from the force of his grip, as though he could crush his feelings through sheer willpower.

But no amount of strength could suppress the storm raging within him.

In his mind, Feral prowled, his wolf restless and pacing, snarling with a frustration that Jungkook did not understand, or want to understand.

His own frustration was different, a venomous resentment that festered and pulsed beneath his skin, aimed directly at the one he had just banished into the freezing night.

"Why him?" The words came out as a low growl, directed at no one but the hollow emptiness surrounding him.

He resumed his pacing, his body taut like a caged predator, every step leaving cracks in his own resolve.

Taehyung.

The name flickered in his mind, an ember that he despised yet couldn’t extinguish. An omega, soft and fragile, and worst of all, his mate.

A mate he hadn’t asked for, a weakness he didn’t want.

He hated that thought.

Hated that someone like Taehyung, an outsider could have a hold on him, hated the way the mate bond clawed at him, making him feel things he’d spent years burying.

His eyes fell on a delicate vase on the side table, a reminder of peace he once cherished.

In a single, heated motion, he snatched it up and hurled it across the room, watching with grim satisfaction as it shattered, shards scattering like the remnants of his own fractured restraint.

"Fuck it," he muttered, voice raw and low. But it was no use.

Otherside, Feral was relentless, scratching and snarling, his distress blending with Jungkook's own, an agitation that wouldn’t be ignored.

The image of Taehyung shivering in the cold flashed behind his eyes, taunting him.

With a grunt, Jungkook threw himself onto the bed, burying his face in his hands, attempting to force the ache in his chest to silence.

But it only grew, twisting tighter, deeper. Taehyung's pleading eyes haunted him, each memory stoking the turmoil, each thought reminding him of the bond that bound them, fragile yet unbreakable.

He muttered a curse, venomous and bitter, repeating the words, "I  don’t fucking care." But each time he said it, the lie tasted sourer, ringing hollow in the night.

Hours slipped by as he fought the gnawing feeling of guilt, the bond tormenting him like a vice.

But every breath he took felt heavy, each reminder of Taehyung curled up in the cold pressing on him like a weight he couldn’t shake.

His wolf whimpered in his mind, a sound so filled with fury and heartbreak that it unsettled him.

He knew Feral was also experiencing the same pain too.
"Enough," Feral snarled, each word laced with a fury that sent shivers down Jungkook’s spine.

"You stubborn bastard," the wolf cursed, his voice a dark growl in Jungkook's mind, laced with raw, unfiltered anger.

"He’s out there, alone, and freezing because of your pride. Are you really so heartless? Do you want his blood on your hands?"
