Next Day Jin gave a lift to Y/N on her way back home, Peter is also with them sleeping peacefully in the back seat of the car.
She looked over at jin for a while as her thoughts were surrounded by his words He babbled my mistake to himself and she overheard it.As they dropped her home , she got out of the car and thanked them but before going she offered jin to have a tea someday as a thankyou for giving her ride back home. He slightly nodded and drove off to his house with Peter. On one fine day Y/N stepped into the bustling streets, enjoying the view of the season, She adjusted her bag on her shoulder and headed towards the cozy café that had become her favorite escape.
As she pushed open the door, the familiar aroma of coffee and baked goods greeted her. She smiled at the barista and made her way to her usual corner. The café was quiet today, only a few patrons scattered around. Y/N took out her laptop and settled in, ready to work on her latest writing project.A gentle chime rang as the door opened, and Y/N glanced up out of habit. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw who walked in. Jin, strolled in with a casual grace, his presence instantly commanding the room. He wore a simple hoodie and jeans, but his charisma was undeniable.
Y/N tried to focus on her screen, but her eyes kept drifting back to Jin. He ordered a coffee and, to her surprise, headed towards the empty seat opposite her. "Is this seat taken?" he asked with a charming smile."N-no, go ahead," Y/N stammered, her heart racing.
Jin sat down, and they exchanged polite smiles. Suddenly, Jin's phone rang. He glanced at the screen and sighed before answering. Y/N tried not to eavesdrop, but it was hard not to overhear in the quiet café."I know, I know," Jin said, his voice tinged with frustration. "I'll be there soon. I just needed a break."
After he hung up, he noticed Y/N's curious expression and chuckled. "Sorry about that. It's been a hectic day.""No need to apologize," Y/N replied. "I can imagine how busy your life must be right now. First work then Peter. "
Jin's smile faded slightly, replaced by a more thoughtful expression. "Can i ask you something? " Jin asked I slightly nodded my head. "Did something happen to you? Are is this any new fashion you have? " He said while resting his head on his hands and his eyes signal to my short hair. I sighed a little before telling him about my health as they fell into an easy conversation, sharing stories about their lives and dreams. Y/N found herself opening up to Jin in a way she hadn't with anyone else since moving here. Jin, in turn, seemed genuinely interested in her writing and experiences.
As the café began to close for the night, Jin looked at Y/N with a warm smile. "I've really enjoyed talking with you. Maybe we could do this again sometime?" I smiled at him "I'd like that I'll visit Peter too soon, only if you don't mind. " "Not at all, Your my late wife's friend, he'll be happy to spend time with you" They bid they're goodbyes and went to their separate path.
Next day, Y/N stood nervously at the doorstep of Jin's house, clutching a small gift bag in her hand. The door opened, and Jin's warm smile greeted her. "Hey, Y/N. Come on in."Y/N stepped inside, immediately enveloped by the comforting aroma of home-cooked food. Jin took her coat and led her to the living room, where a young boy was engrossed in a puzzle on the floor.
Peter looked up, his big, curious eyes taking in the new presence and greeted me as soon as his eyes landed onto me.
Jin excused himself to the kitchen, leaving Y/N and Peter alone. Y/N sat down on the floor beside him, admiring his puzzle. "That looks like a fun puzzle. Can I help?" Peter nodded eagerly, and they spent the next few minutes working on it together. As they worked, Y/N felt a connection forming, a bond she hoped would grow stronger with time. After dinner, which was filled with laughter and stories, Peter's bedtime arrived.
Jin took him upstairs, and Y/N followed, standing by the door as Jin tucked his son in."Goodnight, Peter," Jin said softly.Once Peter was asleep, Jin and Y/N went back downstairs, settling on the couch with cups of tea. The silence between them was comfortable, filled with the unspoken understanding that had grown since they first met."Thank you for coming," Jin said, breaking the silence. "It means a lot to me. To us."Y/N reached out and took his hand. "I'm glad you invited me. Peter is a wonderful boy."Jin's eyes softened. "He's all I have left of Joy. A thought crossed her mind as she asked him " I don't wanna interfere but the curiosity is killing me the way you take care of Peter is just like a father does to his son. But I overheard you the other day that Peter is not your son? As Joy's best friend I feel I need some explanation from you at least? Who are you Jin? "
He took a deep breath, looking down at his wedding ring in his hand. " Peter is the Joy and my brother's son. Peter isn't my biological son." "WHAT? How... How did joy never tell me about it? " "But yeah, joy is my wife. She was actually supposed to marry my brother but he lost his life in a landslide and we found out not long after that she is pregnant with his child. So, just to save her and her child our parents fixed our marriage. No one knows about it. Other than our parents and Joy and me.
Y/N felt a surge of shock and empathy. "Oh, Jin. I'm so sorry. That must have been incredibly hard to hear." Jin nodded, his eyes glistening. "It was. But despite everything, I love Peter more than anything. He's my son in every way that matters."
Y/N reached out and took Jin's hand. "You're an amazing father, Jin. Peter is lucky to have you." Jin squeezed her hand, his gaze meeting hers. "Thank you, Y/N. Your support means the world to me."
They sat in silence for a while, the weight of the revelation settling between them. Y/N's mind raced, thinking of Joy, her secrets, and the bond she had formed with Jin and Peter."Jin, I want you to know that I'm here for you both. No matter what,"
Y/N said softly.Jin smiled, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "Thank you, Y/N".As the evening grew late, Y/N prepared to leave. Jin walked her to the door, and they stood there for a moment, the air thick with unspoken feelings."Goodnight, Y/N," Jin said, his voice warm and tender."Goodnight, Jin," Y/N replied, her heart full as Jin pulled her in a slight hug "Thankyou for understanding."
Over the next few weeks, Y/N found herself spending more time with Jin and Peter. They would meet for coffee, visit the park, and share stories about Joy. Jin's presence became a source of comfort for Y/N, and she found solace in knowing that they were all keeping Joy's memory alive together. One sunny afternoon, they took Peter to his favorite playground.
As they watched him climb the jungle gym, Jin turned to Y/N. "I want to thank you for being here," he said. "It's been hard, but having you around has made it a little easier."Y/N smiled, feeling a warmth she hadn't felt in a long time. "I'm glad we found each other," she replied. As time passed, their bond grew stronger. They laughed, cried, and healed together.
Y/N became a part of Jin's life, and Jin became a source of strength for her. They were no longer just connected by their shared grief but by a deep, genuine friendship that blossomed into something more.Years later, Y/N found herself telling the story to a grown-up Peter. "And that's how I met your dad," she concluded, her eyes shimmering with tears of both joy and sorrow.
"We found each other through the love we had for your mom, and in the process, we found a way to move forward."
Peter smiled, hugging her tightly. "I'm glad you did," he said softly. "Mom would be, too."And in that moment, surrounded by the memories of the past and the love of the present, Y/N knew that Joy's spirit was with them, watching over the family she had brought together.
