At the end of it all, we get out of class during the break, Amara to my side.My muscles sore from sitting for so long that when I crack my , she flinches.
After a bit more of bickering about Vihaan we at last made our way to the cafeteria.
It was usually empty, as most students prefer eating outside. Except he is there today. Is he stalking me or something?

His group is in the corner of the room, next to the windows, while we have just entered on the other side. I don't want to be around him right now, and I know if he sees me he is going to call me over. Amara is already jealous, I don't want to do anything that can push her nerves.
My life has flipped so much by just being around him for a few minutes that I think It's best to avoid him as much as possible for now.

"Lets go" I whisper quickly, darting, to the cafeteria ladies.

But Amara stays frozen in place, glaring at the table.

I roll my eyes and pull her away and toward the array of food, before they can see us.

Unfortunately we are a bit late today, and now all that is left are scraps. The ladies miserably clump off the chicken, rice and veggies, not that bad, I don't have to wait to go home to eat lunch today.

However, Amara's eyes drop with disappointment,at the less quantity and she reaches for the pocket in her skirt to call her dad to ask for food.

But I stopped her. "Let's quickly get out of here first" I whisper, "it is getting hot"

She squints her eyes confused, but when her eyes meet Vihaan she doesn't argue anymore.

Alas.

I wish I could say we were out.

Nope.

Vihaan, sees me right as we are about to turn back.

"Payal" he shouts and our eyes instantly connect.

Well there goes my option of running way

My feet are like hefty boulders, and I can see the fear burning in Amara's eye.

What am I going to do ?him or her? Well any day I would choose her. But really it was between her and our lives, considering Mr.Leela's deal.

A smile quirks on his lips

"Come sit here mere jaan " he pats on the seat next to him "Jab se tumne mujhe chhod diya hai, meri shanti aur khushi bhi tumhare saath chale gayi hai.

(Come sit here my dear)

(Ever since you left me, my peace and happiness have also gone with you)

Everyone turns to look at me with a smirk on their faces, and I choke on my breath, every muscle in my chest tightens and I am on the brink of bursting ,my face heating red like a cherry at his word-despite knowing it's fake.

Maybe he's really a poet. Or a really good runaway actor. Or a liar

But I find myself stiff as a rod, allowing the redness to invade my cheek-when was the last time I was told something like that? Even if he was faking it, it made my heart skip a thousand beats.
Ew no!

Get a grip I chide myself. I am not a teenage girl

"They are forcing you aren't they?"

Amara asks.

"N-no" I whisper snapping out.

"I know I can see the fear in your eyes"

"I'm not scared and this isn't forced. Why can't you just understand that?"

She raises a brow challenging my own words
