Y/n Riddle sits on his bed reading a book called IT by Stephen King. It was a pretty uneventful day. His brother Devon bullied him as usual, his little sister Erin asked him questions all day and his older brother Simon was trying to keep them out of his room.

Devon, Simon, and Erin aren't actually related to Y/n. Devon's last name was Cooper. He is the same age as Y/n though, both eleven. Erin's last name is Johnson. She's ten years old. And Simon's last name is Drayton. He's twelve.

Last year Simon left to go to a private school. At least that's what he caretaker, Rose, said. But ever since then, Simon won't let them into his room. Y/n originally thought that it was just because of puberty, but he wasn't so sure now. He could hear him muttering weird words and heard the word Ravenclaw once. Y/n has no idea what it meant, but he really didn't care.

There was a sudden knock at the door and Y/n looked up to see Simon standing in the doorway. He was holding a letter in his hand.

"Is that from your school?" Y/n asked. "It's still July. You have a month left before school starts up again."

"Yeah, it's from school. List of school supplies. But I wasn't here to tell you that. I was here to tell you that...my headmaster's here to see you and Devon," Simon replied.

"What does he want with us?"

"Well, I think he wants you to join the school I go to. And if you accept, you and Devon will be allowed to enter my room again."

The offer was tempting. Y/n always wondered what Simon was hiding in there. Y/n closed his book and followed Simon down stairs into Rose's office. They entered and they saw Rose, Devon, and a tall, thin, and very old, judging by the silver of his hair and beard, which were both long enough to tuck into his belt, man. He was wearing long robes, a purple cloak that swept the ground, and high-heeled, buckled boots. His blue eyes were light, bright, and sparkling behind half-moon spectacles and his nose was very long and crooked, as though it had been broken at least four times now.

"Y/n meet Professor Albus Dumbledore," Rose said. "He's the headmaster of Simon's school."

"Very nice to meet you, Y/n," Dumbledore said. "Y/n, Devon, I want to put this as simple as possible. You're both wizards."

"What are you smoking, old man?" Devon asked.

"Devon!" Rose yelled at him. "Don't say that!"

"I'm a what?" Y/n said shocked.

"A wizard. Just like me," Simon said.

Dumbledore takes out two yellowish envelopes and hands them to the boys. Devon opens his immediately. Y/n stares at the seal. It has four different animals with an H in the middle. It had a Snake, a Badger, a Raven, and a lion. Y/n then opened the letter and began reading it.

Y/n looked up from the letter at Dumbledore. It looked legit. But he was still skeptical.

"How do I know this isn't a prank?" He asked.

"Simon. Show him," Dumbledore says and Simon complies.

Simon takes out a cedar wand and says: "Lumos!" and a bright light comes out of Simon's wand. Devon looks excited. Y/n is amassed.

"There's a list of things on a second page," Dumbledore says. "Simon shall be able to help you with the rest. I have to start preparing the letters for another person."

And with that Dumbledore disappears.

Y/n looks at the list. He then looks up at Simon.

"Where are we going to get all of this?" He asks.

Simon just smiles and motions for them to follow him. The follow and so does Rose. They then walk out the front door of the orphanage and begin to walk into town. It's early morning so everyone's still asleep. They should be back before they wake up.

A little while later they arrived at a tiny, grubby-looking pub.

"Follow me," Simon said and Y/n and Devon followed.

"I'm going to head back to the orphanage, okay, boys?!" Rose yelled.

"Okay!" Simon yelled back.

They then walked past a bartender that Simon said was named Tom. Tom? Y/n felt like he heard that name before in one of his dreams that he's been having for months.

They made their way out the back and Simon walked over to a walk. He took out his wand and tapped the wall three times. The brick he had touched quivered -- it wriggled -- in the middle, a small hole appeared -- it grew wider and wider -- a second later they were facing an archway.

"Welcome," Said Simon. "To Diagon Alley."
