Elise POV

It's been a hell of a year! At around five months pregnant, we all moved to the other side of town. Aaron found a duplex that had two units, side by side, available so we could live right next to each other. He and Denise wanted the baby and I close just in case. Denise threw a baby shower for me when I was about seven months along. I decided I wanted to keep the gender a surprise and went neutral with everything. We all sat down and went through nursery and baby themes for the nursery. We ultimately decided to go with a 'You are my Sunshine' theme nursery, because I wanted it to be bright and happy, no matter what I ended up having. We all loved the baby and took weeks to finish it. Aaron was a huge help in putting in the shelves that were too tall for us to reach.

Denise found out not long after I gave birth that they were expecting, so Aaron finally convinced her to make the march down the aisle. They'd been engaged for six years anyway, wanting to be fully done with all the schooling they wanted to do and be in 'grown up jobs' before they tied the knot. They also decided to try talking to their families to let them know about the baby and marriage, both sides wanted nothing to do with them or their baby. Still. All because they were with someone who wasn't the same skin color. Makes no damn sense. They're happy and love each other so much. I've literally never seen a couple more in love than these two. Denise, being super hormonal, was a wreck for about three days, then the anger set in. Denise and Aaron are getting married in two weeks, so this has been a sprint instead of a marathon of wedding planning. Less than four months to throw a wedding together. Yay!

They found out last week with the genetic testing they're having a boy. My little lady, Tennley, is three and a half months old, and perfect. She's got this creamy soft skin, and bright blue eyes with this beautiful dark chocolate hair like me. Only thing she got from Trevor was his nose and chin. Trevor signed over his rights without even asking to see the baby or if the baby was a boy or girl. He looked a little better than the last time he'd been at the lawyers, but I couldn't bring myself to care. I was finally over him and, frankly, exhausted from just giving birth, and that was a process. A long thirty-six-hour process, where I had to be cut because she has a big head.

Thankfully we're in the final stages of planning for the wedding, and living next to each other means that we have easy access to each other and all planning information. Each side of the duplex is three bedrooms, one on the first floor, and two on the second floor with full baths on both floors. We set up wedding headquarters in the bedroom on the first floor of their side of the duplex, and kept her dress on my side. Aaron told me last week that his best friend Adrian was coming into town for the wedding. He'd been away serving in the military since he was 17 and had recently been medically discharged. He's supposed to be arriving today and staying in my side of the duplex for the next couple of weeks until the wedding. Then, I think he's planning on living around here since, according to Aaron, 'he's my brotha from anotha motha!'
