Gatsby had loved Daisy with an unwavering intensity that spanned years, never fading even in the most challenging moments of his life. The image of Daisy became a constant in his mind, a beacon of hope and desire he clung to through every hardship.
To Gatsby, Daisy wasn't just a woman; she embodied everything he longed for—a life of elegance, status, and escape from his humble origins. In his eyes, being with Daisy would allow him to forget his past, erase the man he once was, and become the person he always dreamed of being.
But for Daisy, the connection was different. While Gatsby sees her as a means of rewriting his story, she is bound by the weight of her history. Daisy longed for someone who could remember and understand the pain and sadness she had endured, not someone who sought to forget the past.
Arabella was up to the nick of dawn, with the sun shining upon her body sitting in the bed head-deep in the book she had taken from Remus. She never thought to try Muggle reading of her own free will. It wasn't something that normally came up for her. "You're awake early?" Clara walked into the room furrowing her eyebrows and eyeing the dark ginger.
"Have you read this book?" Furrowing her eyebrows and lifting her head. "Gatsby-"
"Isn't that the one Remus had?" She was plopping down on her bed and crossing her legs. "Speaking of, I just talked to Pete- boys barely walked away with a warning. Sirius convinced McGonagall somehow."
Finally lifting her head from the book only moments after closing it on her finger. Counting that she hadn't finished it so far. But it was a short book that she was only a couple of chapters done. "Reckon, America is that fun? I mean, the parties! Hell, the parties."
"Why need America, when we have Parie" Putting a thick French accent that was laced through her english tone. "Speaking of; I'm hungry- so put the book down so we can eat. Never thought I'd be telling you that."
Fake laughing and getting up from the bed so that she could get ready for her classes that she had today. "I never thought I'd hear you say that."
Moments later, they followed the Ravenclaws into the Great Hall, looking at the staff table as they entered. "Do you think it's cursed?" Clara didn't take her eyes away from the chair where the new defence against the dark arts teacher had sat.
had never had this class before, it was always protection spell learning. But with recent scared about an upcoming threat of the wizarding world. Dumbledore had taken precautions. "Do we have to care? Really. It's a new class- should be easy." Arabella answered sitting down in front of Clara.
"I mean reckon we should," said Clara. "There has to be a reason for every professor going mad, or bloody bonkers who has taken the position since last year. Trelawney says it's cursed"
"And I say. Let's eat." Smiling hauntingly as she looked at the food along the table.
In moments like these, Clara wished Arabella cared more about everything that would worry a normal person. Then the positive and fun things that were going on in the world.
Over towards the boys, James and Sirius had sat down with Peter and Remus who were already eating their breakfast. It was a normal thing for the two of them to be late for breakfast. "I could kiss you right now," Sirius joked towards Remus since they had saved plates for the two of them.
"Please don't." Remus retorted looking up from his food. "I'd rather kiss Myrtle."
"I- I never asked how bad was it?" Peter referred to the punishment that the boys were going to get for throwing a party last night.
James was munching down heavily on his food. Remus swore he could see tiny pieces of it flying onto the plate under him. "Not as bad as it's going to be today." Smirking with his mouth finally closed.
