"You can freshen up in here miss, let me know if you need any assistance" the goblin maid said as she gently closed the door.
I sighed and turned around to face the bathroom.
It was a beautiful bathroom, with tiles so white they sparkled.
In the centre of the room was a large square bathtub, which was already prepared for me. Warm water steaming as the bubbles popped and vanished into thin air.
On the opposite side of the bathtub was a two person counter which held two round like sinks. A large rectangular mirror rested above the sinks and I couldn't help but gasp at my reflection.
I looked horrible.
Terrible.
The red dress that was put on me days ago was ripped and filthy with a mixture of blood and dirt all over it.
My hair was still held in the two plaits which were holding on for dear life, although one red bow was missing from one end.
But what really shocked me was the blood.
I have never seen so much blood in my life. I wasn't even sure if it was mine.
I had blood all over my hands and my dress, some were even smeared on my face.
I didn't look like some posh general's daughter. I looked like a murderer, an outcast. Someone no one should associate with.
I quickly blinked away the flashback of myself holding my Pa's lifeless body in my arms. That's probably where most of the blood came from.
I swallowed as I pulled the knife out of my dress's belt and placed it on a nearby bookshelf near the sinks.
The knife still held the blood of the man I stabbed earlier. The murderer of my mother, and I wanted nothing more than to get his filthy DNA of its blade.
After pulling the last ribbon out of my hair and taking out the plaits, I slowly peeled the red dress off myself and walked over to the bathtub.
The water was crystal clear beneath the sheet of bubbles which floated above it. As I placed my feet into the water and slid inside, the smell of vanilla instantly hit my nose. I was then reminded of how vanilla was my Ma's favourite scent.
Sighing, I then laid my head back and was about to lower my arms into the water when suddenly a stinging pain erupted from the side of my arm.
I hissed in pain as I turned to look at the wound.
I had forgotten about that.
It was really perfect timing. Declan's knight just had to be there at that time, when he shoved me off him just so I could slice my arm on its long, sharp sword.
How many days ago was that? I couldn't even remember.
All I knew was that this wound was probably infected after being left untreated for so long. The cut was big, probably about 4 and a half inches long.
It would definitely leave a scar.
I let out a deep breath as I slowly lowered my arm back into the water.
I clenched my teeth and endured the pain as I felt the warm water surround the wound, cleaning out all the bacteria and filth that was probably infecting it.
I should ask the maids for a bandage after this.
As I laid in the tub, the stinging pain in my arm began to fade away as I drowned myself in my thoughts.
On the way to the Queen's castle, she told me that we were in Solvadon.
A country which was a 3-day ship journey away from Valoria, which was perfect because now I knew what country attacked my home.
The Queen then told me that I didn't need to worry about life anymore and that she would take care of me as if I were Eloise, her dead daughter who passed away due to an incurable illness.
The Queen said I looked exactly like her. Everything except my eyes. Eloise had green, emerald eyes which shined when she smiled.
Well, that was how the Queen described it.
I had pale blue eyes. Which seemed dead from all the trauma I have witnessed. I will never forget the tragic deaths of my family. Ever.
Which is why I can't let it go.
I shifted my gaze to stare at my knife which was resting on the bookshelf.
I had killed my mother's murderer. All that was left to do was find my father's. And I will find him and kill him. There is no purpose to my life now. I am now a fake adopted princess who lives in a country that murdered her own parents.
No.
This cannot be my end.
I will find him no matter how long it will take, how hard it will be. I will find the man who killed my Pa and make him pay.
I am no longer a girl who is hungry for the approval of her peers and achievements in life.
I am a girl who is hungry for revenge.
I will train for it. Breathe for it.
I will live for it.
