The wrong lips.
The wrong body.
Both pushed against me and I growled, shoving back against it. Shar stumbled back and I caught her before she fell but damn I had to resist the urge to just let her go. I set her straight then wiped my mouth of her saliva. She was one of Brooke's groupies and I had fucked her once but she had the wrong hair color and I had been drunk as fuck. I wasn't tonight and I wasn't single so she could take her kisses to someone who wanted them.
"Don't ever put your lips on me again," I growled and she pouted, tucking her hair behind her ear, looking up at me with innocent wide brown eyes that did nothing but piss me off more.
"We had fun once, Pierce. We could have fun again." She tried, stepping forward on shoes that were stupid for a beach bonfire. I backed up against the jeep and shook my head. I knew what I wanted and I had it. No way was I fucking that up for anything.
"No. Walk away, Shar." I said firmly but she pushed against me again, her nails raking down my chest before she went to plant her lips again. I turned my head and her lips landed on my cheek just as there was a camera flash. I grabbed Shar's arms and forced her back with a scowl before turning my head to the flash. Brooke was grinning as she came out from behind some cars. She held her phone up where the newly captured photo of her groupie kissing me and in a compromising position against my body.
"Taylor is going to love this one. And this one." She switched to a photo of the first kiss Shar had blindsided me with. I scowled at her bitch side rearing up.
"Just because I'm a guy doesn't mean permission doesn't exist." I snapped and she laughed a shrill laugh.
"That won't matter when I show Taylor these." She said like she had it all figured out but the bitch was getting it.
"Jealousy makes you ugly, Brooke. Why don't you get it? I won't ever come back to you, even if Taylor believes your bullshit. I don't want you."
Brooke scowled, popping her hip in her tiny skirt. She was flanked by a friend and Shar who followed her lead.
"Not what you were saying literally a day before you got with her. I'd say you just like fucking and so do I so we make sense."
"I never liked fucking you. I pictured her every time." I drove the knife in and she pursed her lips.
"Liar."
"Believe whatever you want Brooke. I'm not coming back, I'm not fucking you again. You've got to get over it."
"But I'm cheerleading captain and your football captain, we're meant to be together."
"Co-captain. Go see if Hayden wants a go on your crazy train." I off loaded her because I knew he'd distract her for me. He knew how she was and he'd been avoiding her for years. I should have taken his warnings more seriously.
"I want you."
"Well I don't want you. How many times do you want to be rejected tonight, Brooke? We're nothing, never were. Get over it and move on." I said, getting more and more frustrated. Taylor could come back any minute and we were still new. I wasn't sure how far her trust stretched and how she'd react to me being surrounded by Brooke and her friends, especially when I was still backed up against my Jeep.
"You're making a mistake. Sofia says she's still in love with Niko, she's just using you." Brooke said and that was my tipping point. I kicked off the Jeep, about to put Brooke in her place, my intention to smash her phone and threaten her with the video I have with her and her stepdad that she sent me. But fingers wrapped around my bicep and I recognized the touch instantly. The right touch.
