The next day, Mia woke up early to the sound of birds chirping and the sun filtering through the tent. She stretched and peeked outside to find Jake already awake, attempting to start a fire for breakfast.

"Morning, Mia!" he called, his voice cheerful. "Sleep well?"

"Like a rock!" she replied, crawling out of the tent and rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "What's on the menu?"

"Eggs and bacon, if I can get this fire going," Jake said, fanning the flames.

As Mia helped Jake prepare breakfast, she felt a mix of excitement and apprehension. The kiss with Liam still lingered in her mind, a warm reminder of the connection they were beginning to explore. She hoped for another moment alone with him today, but the reality of being with Jake made her heart ache.

"Where's Liam?" Jake asked, looking around.

"He's probably still sleeping," Mia replied, glancing back at the tent, hoping Liam would wake up soon.

Just then, Liam emerged, rubbing his eyes and yawning. "Good morning, everyone!" he said, a sleepy smile spreading across his face. "What's cooking?"

"Breakfast!" Jake declared, flipping a couple of eggs onto a plate. "Come eat!"

As they enjoyed their meal together, Mia tried to gauge Liam's mood. He seemed cheerful, but she could also sense an underlying tension. The stolen moments they shared were intoxicating, but there was also a weight to their situation, a secret they were keeping from Jake.

After breakfast, Jake suggested a hike to a nearby overlook. "It'll be a great way to burn off some of those pancakes," he joked, grinning.

Mia and Liam exchanged glances, both feeling the excitement of the adventure and the need for privacy. "Sounds perfect!" Mia replied, trying to keep her tone light.

As they hiked along the trail, the sun peeked through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the path. Jake led the way, animatedly sharing stories about his childhood camping trips, while Mia and Liam hung back, their shoulders brushing occasionally, sending butterflies fluttering through Mia's stomach.

Once they reached the overlook, Mia gasped at the breathtaking view. The lake sparkled below, surrounded by lush greenery and the distant mountains. "Wow! This is amazing!" she exclaimed, pulling out her camera to capture the moment.

Liam leaned against a nearby tree, watching her with an affectionate smile. "You look beautiful when you're in your element," he said softly.

Mia's heart raced at his words. "Thanks, Liam," she replied, feeling a warm flush creep up her cheeks. "I just love capturing moments like this."

"Want me to model for you?" he teased, striking a silly pose.

"Definitely!" she laughed, snapping a few photos as he made exaggerated faces.

After a while, Jake wandered off to explore the area, leaving Mia and Liam alone at the overlook. The air felt charged with unspoken words, and Mia could feel the weight of their secret hovering between them.

"Can we talk?" Liam said, his voice low.

"Yeah, let's find a quieter spot," she replied, leading him further away from where Jake had gone.

They found a secluded area at the edge of the overlook, where the trees provided a little privacy. "What's on your mind?" Mia asked, her heart racing.

"I've been thinking about us, about how we can make this work," Liam said, his expression serious. "I don't want to hide anymore. I want to be honest with Jake, but I don't want to lose you in the process."

Mia's heart sank at the thought of revealing their feelings to Jake. "I know. But I'm scared, Liam. What if he gets hurt? He's my brother, and I don't want to complicate our friendship."

"I get that," Liam said, stepping closer. "But what we have is special, Mia. I don't want to let fear hold us back. If we're going to do this, we need to be honest with him."

Mia bit her lip, torn between her feelings for Liam and her loyalty to Jake. "You're right. But we need to find the right moment. I don't want to ruin our weekend."

"Let's just enjoy today and figure it out later," Liam suggested, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "We can take our time."

"Okay," she agreed, feeling a rush of warmth at his touch. "I just hope we don't keep getting caught in awkward situations."

Just then, Jake returned, a wide grin on his face. "You two look like you were plotting something!" he joked, glancing between them.

Mia and Liam exchanged a quick glance, and she felt her heart race. "Just talking about the view," Mia said, trying to sound casual.

"Yeah, it's a killer view!" Jake agreed, gesturing toward the lake. "Let's head back down and go swimming again. I'll race you!" he said, taking off down the trail.

"Wait up!" Mia called, following him with a laugh. Liam jogged behind her, a smile on his face.

As they swam in the lake that afternoon, Mia tried to push the conversation about honesty to the back of her mind. The cool water felt refreshing, and she relished the laughter and carefree moments with her brother and Liam. But every time she caught Liam's eye, her heart raced, the weight of their secret pressing down on her.

After swimming, they returned to the campsite to grill dinner. As they cooked, Mia felt a sense of contentment wash over her. The smell of burgers filled the air, and they sat around the fire, sharing stories and jokes.

Later, as darkness enveloped the campsite, they gathered around the fire, roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. Mia felt a warmth in her chest as she watched Jake and Liam interact, their camaraderie shining through.

"Okay, ghost stories time!" Jake declared, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I want to hear some spooky tales!"

Mia laughed, but a part of her felt uneasy. She wanted to keep the mood light, but the thought of the secret she was hiding weighed heavily on her.

As the night wore on and laughter echoed in the air, Mia couldn't shake the feeling that the truth would have to come out eventually. She looked over at Liam, who caught her gaze and offered her a reassuring smile. In that moment, she knew she wasn't alone in this.

Later, as they all settled into the tent for the night, Mia lay awake, her mind racing with thoughts and feelings. She had enjoyed every moment of their trip, but the weight of her secret hung in the air. She wanted to explore her feelings for Liam but knew that honesty was the only way forward.

With a deep breath, she made a silent promise to herself: she would find a way to talk to Jake, to be honest about what was happening with Liam. The thought terrified her, but she knew that the only way to move forward was to face the truth.
