3 years earlier

I walked into the kitchen for dinner and saw my dad against my moms back hugging her while she was cooking.

Aww! I'm so lucky to have great parents that are so in love. I cooed in my thoughts.

But then my dad swooped in for the kiss.

"NOPE! INNOCENT EYES HERE! NO MAKE OUTS!" I shouted covering my eyes.

"GEEZ!" My mom jumped "You scared the crap out of your father and I, Kirsty. Next time announce your here"

"You're just mad 'cause you didn't get your make out time" I teased.

My mom blushed and looked down.

"K don't embarrass your mother like that" my dad scolded. "And of course we're mad, we need our annual make out time scheduled right before dinner."

"Jackson." my mom attempted to hush him, "She's only 14 be quiet."

"Whatever," he scoffed, then he went to kiss her again.

"Nope" she dodged him. "I need to go get groceries."

"Fine" my dad pouted like a child.

"Love you, be back in five, 'kay?"

"Love you too" me and my dad replied.

She closed the door.

"So father, are you using protection?" I asked him.

"Where did you learn that?" he asked while stepping dangerously close to me wiggling his tickling fingers.

I backed up slowly, "Now I don't mean any harm.."

"You better run!" He shouted chasing after me.

I ran away "You'll never catch me alive!"

"Oh yes I will" he caught me and pinned me to the ground tickling my hips, the most ticklish spot of my body.

"OKAY, OKAY! I give, dad. I won't ask again, just let me go!" I laughed.

Ring ring. Ring ring. The phone rang.

"The phone's ringing" I yelled.

"Fine." My dad grumped, "I'll let you go this time, but next time you won't be so lucky"

Little did I know there would never be a next time.

"Hello?" Dad paused, "this is he... what about my wife... I'm coming" he hung up. "Let's go, your mother got in a car crash"
He grabbed his coat and keys then rushe out the door with me following.

The ride to the hospital was silent with dad in deep thought, and me with silent tears streaming down my face.

Once we got there, we pulled into the ER and went to the front desk.

"Where is Krystal Northwood" my dad asked frantically.

The receptionist gave us a sympathetic look. "She's in room 239, down that hall"

My dad and I rushed down the hall to find the room my mother was in.

When we got to the room my dad burst inside.

"What happened? Is she okay? What's wrong?" My dad asked millions of questions.

The doctor gave us a sympathetic look like the receptionist, "We did all we could, really. But by the time the ambulance got there her arm and leg was smashed and she lost too muck blood to survive"

"WHAT? No she's alive, she has to be" my dad paced.

"It was a drunk driver smashed into her car as he ran a red light" the doctor said as calmly as he could.

"Where is he" my dad practically growled.

"That I cannot say" the doctor replied.

My dad walked out the door. Leaving me in the room with tears streaming down my face.

An empathetic nurse looked at me, she brought me into her arms soothingly whispering "It will be okay" repeatedly.

Those were the last words endearing words I heard for the next three years of my life.

A/N: Depressing I know. The whole story won't be like this don't worry. Honestly I don't even know if I'm going to even complete the story. It's just something I thought would be neat. The song up there is Silent by: Tori Kelly I thought it kind of (not really) fit this chapter. And because Tori Kelly is the f*cking bomb. I also excessively curse. So you'll have to deal with it or stop reading.
