♡ PROLOGUE ♡

In the depths of the sea, where the darkness reigns and the pressure is extreme, a secret has been hidden for centuries. A secret that has been guarded by the ancient ones, who have sworn to protect it with their lives. A secret that has been whispered in the currents, and echoed in the tides.

It is said that a child will be born, a child of two worlds, with the heart of the sea and the soul of the land. A child who will bring balance to the oceans, and harmony to the waves. A child who will unlock the secrets of the deep, and bring light to the darkness.

And so, the wait began. The wait for the child, the chosen one, the savior of the sea. The wait that has spanned generations, and centuries. The wait that is almost over.

For in a small coastal town, a young girl is growing up, unaware of her true identity, and her destiny. A young girl who is about to discover that she is the key to unlocking the secrets of the ocean, and saving the world from destruction.

                    CHARACTER'S PERSONALITY

LAYLA: she is strong, sensitive, and a bit guarded character. She values trust but fears rejection, which makes her cautious in revealing her true self. Empathetic and caring, she’s quick to show concern for others and finds solace in nature, hinting at a poetic, introspective side. Her longing for acceptance is balanced by a deep inner strength.

KAI: He is a supportive and empathetic character, quietly strong and protective of Layla. He possesses a deep affection for her, which he keeps hidden, making him both patient and understanding. His connection to the ocean reflects his adventurous spirit, and he is drawn to Layla’s uniqueness. Despite his feelings, he respects her boundaries, showing his loyalty and friendship even in difficult moments.

CHRIS: He is charismatic and playful, using humor to connect with others. He values honesty and feels betrayed by Layla's secret, leading to anger and disappointment when he discovers her true identity. His emotional depth is revealed through his struggle between affection for Layla and feelings of mistrust.

CHARLES:  his character isn't mentioned much but he is a protective father to gives away his daughter Layla for adoption to keep her safe from evils.

EMMA: She is lively, playful, and supportive. She teases Layla about her crush, shows pride in her achievements, and stands up against mean behavior, reflecting her loyalty and fairness. Overall, she’s a fun and encouraging friend.

Ramona ( Layla's mother) : Layla’s mother is nurturing and caring, showing a strong interest in her daughter’s well-being. She encourages Layla to eat and shares stories, creating a warm family atmosphere. Her approach reflects a sense of warmth and support, emphasizing the importance of family bonds and communication.

HANS ( LAYLA'S FATHER) :  Layla’s father is adventurous and engaging, sharing stories from his childhood and creating excitement around family outings. He fosters a sense of wonder about the world, particularly through myths and local legends. His approach is warm and encouraging, showing a strong bond with Layla and an interest in her experiences.

MARLIA (LAYLA'S BIOLOGICAL MOTHER) : Marlia's character is complex, embodying beauty, power, and tragedy. Initially, she is portrayed as a formidable Siren manipulated by dark forces, which leads her to betrayal and malevolence. Her transition from a beloved member of the mermaid community to a villain reflects a loss of innocence and an internal struggle.

URSULA: Ursula is a cunning and manipulative antagonist driven by ambition and a desire for power. She corrupts Marlia, turning her into a powerful Siren to exploit her abilities. As the mastermind behind the Sirens' conflict with mermaids, Ursula embodies darkness and deception, highlighting themes of betrayal and the dangers of unchecked ambition.

QUEEN CLARISSA: Queen Clarissa is a wise and compassionate ruler, dedicated to her kingdom's safety. She seeks the truth about Layla's identity, reflecting her nurturing nature. Clarissa carries sadness over her lost daughter, Marlia, and aims to restore harmony amid the chaos caused by the Sirens.

NOTE: I didn't mention the side characters because theirs role aren't that much in this story.
