*Jaime's POV*
I had been at the studio since I dropped Ainsley off at Vic's new apartment. Half of me knew he wouldn't show, but the other half just kept hoping and praying that he would finally see that I would do anything, be anything, just to hold him again. I looked at the clock, which now read 9:45, and sighed. He isn't coming, Jaime.I got up, grabbed all of my things, and made my way through the hallways. As I opened the last door, I bumped into him. "Vic," I gasped. "You came- I- I mean you're here. I didn't think you were gonna come, I mean, it's just so late and-" I was cut off by his lips slamming onto mine.
I dropped the notebooks and pens from my hands and grabbed him by the hips. With his hands locked on my face, the rest of the world faded away from us, and we kissed for what could have been hours. Eventually, he loosened his grip and pulled away from my lips. "I'm so fucking sorry, Jaime. It took a lot to make me see it, but you're the only one I ever wanted. I'm going to make up for all that I put you through, I swear." He kissed me again, but only for a moment this time.
When he pulled away this time, he sank back down, and I smiled knowing that he had to get on his toes to kiss me. "I forgive you Vic. I needed a lot of time to do it, but I do honestly forgive you. I know it's all been hard on you, with Cara and Ainsley and the band and me. I know. But I want you to come to me with your frustrations, not just run off and abandon your life." He nodded and sighed. I bent down to pick up the things I had dropped, and then we made our way to the parking lot.
"So can I come home tonight?" he asked quietly.
"Of course you can. We missed you so much, Vic." I smiled and used my shoulder to bump into him as we walked.
"I missed you guys, too," he beamed. "So why don't you ride back with us? We can pick up your car tomorrow, I mean I need to hit up the studio anyways!"
I hesitated before answering, "no, I got some stuff in my car that I don't want to leave. Expensive stuff, you know? I'll just meet you guys there!" I quickly walked to my car and got in. I waved to my husband and daughter as they pulled out of the parking lot. When they were out of sight, I dialed his number.
"Alex, I can't make it tonight," I said once the ringing stopped. From the other end of the call, I heard him excuse himself from a loud room and a few doors shut.
"Sorry about that, band party. What's up, babe?" he asked. I had always loved the way he called me babe. For such a goofball on stage, he was such a sweet boyfriend.
"I- I can't make it tonight. I'm sorry, Vic is coming home." I dodged through traffic as the call remained silent. "Alex, you still there?"
"Yeah, I am." Silence again. "Hime, I just really wanted to see you. Please don't just leave me now." I sighed and ended the call. I knew if I stayed on the phone, we would both end up crying. I pulled into my driveway and parked the car. Before I got out to see my family, my phone vibrated with a text message.
