The hospital

3rd person pov:

Sanemi's and Giyuu's age: 19

After that first meeting, Giyuu made it his mission to talk to Sanemi. Sanemi always avoided him as best as he could. If he was that guy from that night who saved him that night, he wanted to know. He tried many times to speak with him, but every time, Sanemi found a way out of it. He suddenly disappeared, ran off, or just straight-up ignored him. He wasn't very social and avoided mainly everyone at all costs. The only person he kind of talked to was Obanai.

One afternoon, Master had called both Giyuu and Sanemi to his estate. Once they arrived, he took them to his main room. He showed them a map, pointing at a specific location. "I need you both to check out this old hospital. There are reports of suspicious activity. Be careful especially, there might be something seriously dangerous," he explained. "There may be multiple vampires, and some may be intelligent," he went on.

Mainly the whole time the Master was talking, Giyuu was looking at Sanemi. I finally have a chance, he thought to himself. While Giyuu was looking at Sanemi, he didn't bother to turn in his direction. However, he could sense his eyes on him. "and that's a wrap," Master lastly said while closing the map. "Just make sure to get there before sunset," he smiled at them. Sanemi just nodded and walked out. Giyuu followed him.

They stood in the middle of the estate before Sanemi spoke, "Wait here," he began to walk off, leaving Giyuu alone. "I wonder where he's going," he talked to himself. Sanemi began to walk back to his estate. He needed to get his sword but also needed time to think. He didn't want to talk to Giyuu; he didn't know why. He remembered him from that night when he saved him, but he didn't know what to tell him if he asked.

Once Sanemi got to his estate, he went to pick up his sword. He picked it up and began to walk back to where Giyuu was. Birds chirped and sang, and he eventually made it back. He saw Giyuu, who still standing where he was before he left. He was staring up at the clouds, zoned out.

"Hey," Sanemi called out, catching Giyuu's attention. "You ready?" he asked. Giyuu already had his sword, so he nodded. They made eye contact for a moment, and that's when Giyuu realized something. His eye color was a bit off; it now had a red tint. Sanemi scanned Giyuu's face for a moment and began to walk off, heading towards the site. Giyuu followed, "I have been wanting to ask you something," he suddenly spoke up. Sanemi already knew what was coming, and he sighed. He's avoided him for 2 years somehow, and now he finally has to converse with him. He gave up and accepted it.

"What?" Sanemi asked coldly. Giyuu thought for a moment, how would he even ask? If it wasn't him that made it awkward. "Never mind," Giyuu said and just went silent, looking at the ground. That caught Sanemi by surprise; he truly thought he was going to bring it up. What the fuck? He wondered in his head why didn't he ask.

Why am I still even thinking about it?

Sanemi's mind was suddenly full. He had no idea why either; he didn't care for this random guy. At least that's what he thought. He knew he saved him from almost getting mauled by a vampire, but why was he constantly thinking about him? He was just another merely human that he had saved. Something about him caught his interest though. He didn't quite know what it was.

As they were walking, Sanemi stared at him. He was observing his features. "Hey," he called out to Giyuu. Giyuu turned over to look at him, "hm?" Sanemi looked at him up and down, "our first meeting," he spoke up, "have you not grown? And why?" he questioned him. He was about the same height as when they met when they were 17. "Yeah I haven't grown," he mumbled. "And I don't know," he answered his questions. "Why?" he asked wondering. "Because normally most people would've grown a bit more," he shrugged and went silent. Giyuu went back to looking ahead, lost in his thoughts.
