TW: starvation, abuse, and gore.

Giyuu's pov:My mother was yelling at me because I didn't eat her food. Something about me not appreciating her and how she puts a roof over my head. "You're a disappointment!" she screamed at me, slapping me across the face. "You know what! Wait till your father gets home!" she shouted, making me tear up. She grabbed me by the arm tightly and dragged me to a closet. A dark quiet closet.
I hated the dark.
She always brought me to this dark room every time she was angry with me. She would leave me in there for hours, locking the door, so I couldn't get out. Sometimes she would forget about me for a day or two.
I waited for hours, waiting for my dad to get home. I was always terrified of him. He was loud and aggressive. He always threatened to hurt me just for existing. Once I heard him arrive, I felt fear throughout my body. I heard the doorknob shake, and he busted it open. He grabbed me by the ear, dragging me out.
"What is your mother telling me about you not eating her food?" he questioned still holding my ear. "I'm not feeling well," I tried to explain. He let go of my ear and slapped me. "You know we try our best to get that food!" he screamed, making my stomach flip. I felt sick. "Since you're almost 8, you're old enough to hunt for your own food!" he shouted. "Now get out of my face," he said coldly and turned away from me. I ran to my "room" It was just a slightly bigger room than the closet, but it at least had a lamp. I had a blanket on the floor, which was my bed. I lay down and closed my eyes, letting the tiredness take over me.
The next morning, they were serious about not feeding me. When I asked about it, my mom just yelled at me. She told me to grow up and to go look for food. So I took a large knife, and I made my way outside. I was scared, what could I find? I spent hours looking for something, and that's when I saw it.
A smaller rabbit hopping around. I locked into it, and my body began to move on its own. I stepped quietly enough, making no noise. I suddenly pounced on it, stabbing it. I had blood flowing out of my hands. I snapped back to reality, realizing what I had just done. I felt tears begin to flow down my face. I had just killed an innocent animal.
I made my way home, holding the lifeless corpse in my hand. I could feel it's still warm blood trickling down my hand, leading down my arm. I could feel its dead beady eyes staring at me. I was flooded with guilt.
I soon made it home. I opened the door, and I saw my mom. "Look, mom! I got food!" I told her with a slight smile, hoping she would be proud. "What the" she shouted, "You're getting blood on my floor!" she screamed. She slapped me across the face and grabbed the corpse. "Go to the closet! You finally did one thing but still managed to fuck it up," she scolded. I felt upset, and I made my way to the closet.
Later that night, she opened the door. She gave me a small portion of what I had brought. "This is all you get, you're small and don't need that much to eat," she told me.
After that, it was the same every day but different prey.

The sun had already begun to set. The light slowly disappeared from the sky, which was a sign for me to make my way home. Our house was more towards the woods, away from everybody else. However, it was quieter than usual.
I had caught a wild boar, so I was a bit excited. The bigger the animal, the bigger portion I had gotten. It took a while but I soon arrived at my house. All the lights were off, which was weird. I had a bad feeling in my gut. I dropped the boar's lifeless body and took the knife out of a pocket. I busted the doors open and looked inside.
I observed the surroundings from outside and saw my mother. She has a chunk of her neck missing, and a horror expression on her face. I could hear chewing. Hesitantly, I walked into the house. I looked around and saw nothing. I made my way to my parent's room and that's when I saw it. It was a human, no a monster, chewing on my father's stomach. It turned to me, and I immediately ran. I managed to get out of the house before it caught up to me. It kicked me from behind, making me basically fly.
I landed roughly on the floor, and I turned around. I held up the knife to try to defend myself. It came towards me with a sinister smile. I felt tears begin to roll down my eyes. Was I really going to die?
That was when suddenly something fast came by and kicked it. It was a boy? I saw him stomping his stomach in, which was horrific to look at. That's when he suddenly turned to me. He had white hair and pale purple eyes. That was the only glimpse of him I caught before he disappeared. Suddenly a man came with a mask. The vampire was still moving, but he took out a sword and cut off his head.
"Are you okay?" he asked. "My parents," I softly said, pointing inside the house. He seemed to understand without having to look inside. "How old are you?" he questioned me. "I'm 14" I answered him, still in disbelief from the recent events. It felt unreal. "My name is Sakonji Urokodaki, what about you kid?" he held his hand out to me. "Giyuu Tomioka," I grabbed his hand and he helped me up. "How about I take you in?" he said as he began to walk away. I followed him, answering his question.

When that Shinobu girl kept talking about my height, it made me kinda upset. I knew the reason why I was kind of short. It wasn't exactly my fault. I wasn't really focused on that though.
That guy with the white hair seemed familiar. He looked identical to the one from that night. The one that saved me. I wanted to figure out if it was him, but I didn't know how to exactly. He kept looking at me maybe he recognized me too, or maybe I was being delusional. Either way, I am going to find out if it was him.
