"Well, it started on the day of the attack." Everyone was running. All you can hear in the distance is the screams of people being murdered. These witches and wizards were attacking. They wanted to take over and rule for themselves. I was told to run. Looking back at my mother, eyes filled with tears and fear. "Run Melody!" Just as she finished speaking? She was struck with a force that caused her to start dying. The blood dripping from her mouth made me sick. I watched as she fell to the floor, shock in her face. She looked at me with teary eyes. "RUN." Just then, a dark shadow appeared behind her. I sped off down the halls, coming across all sorts of different fights. I was able to sneak off to the front and run out of the door. I ran down the pathway as far away from the castle as I can get. Out of breath, I turned and looked at the castle in flames. "AHHH!!" I turned around to see a woman. With just the flick of a finger, that woman, was dead. I watched in horror and ran behind a piece of brick. I sat there hiding, waiting for my dad to come out. Or even a servant, a guard, anyone! But no one came. Eventually, the castle burst into flames. I was blown back and slammed straight into brick. BLOODY-! I opened my eyes to see my castle in ruins. No one was coming out. I looked at my surroundings only to see my whole village in ruins. The witches and wizards started evacuating. I guess they assumed that there was nothing here for them anymore. I couldn't stay here, I had to get out. I had to leave. Just as I ran forward, I slammed into a woman, knocking me back. This is the part I actually told him. I wasn't really gonna tell him about my whole family. She wore a long cloak reaching down to her feet. She wore her hood up, bits of her white hair peeking out of it. She smiled at me. A witch? I thought they were all running off? I scrambled up and started to run off. She started following me. I ran towards the woods, hoping I'd lose her. As I was running I stepped on a branch and lost my balance, falling. I wasted no time getting back up but that witch threw me against a tree with some force. I'm surprised my back isn't broken by now. I tried to leave but the force kept me down. She walked over to me slowly, and held out her hand. In the palm, a bright white glowing flower started to bloom. It looked gorgeous. But salt and sugar look the same. There's no way she did all of this just to hand me a flower. "Go on dear..take it!" Hesitant, I reached my hand out. The minute my fingertips touched it, I was brought into a wild sensation of pain, and so was the woman. I was yelling out loud from both fear and pain. After at least 4 minutes, I dropped to the ground and the woman fell back. I looked at the woman and she looked..different? She no longer had that white hair flowing from her hood, it turned black. "It worked..IM FREE!" She kept yelling, talking about being free. She took off her cloak and tossed it. I stood up and spoke. "What..happened?" She turned to look at me and took out a mirror. "Take a look!" I took the mirror and slowly opened it. Who I saw next, wasn't me. I refused to believe it. Instead of my light brown hair and gorgeous green eyes, I had this awful bright white hair and these horrid deep brown eyes. I screamed but so did the woman. The only difference, I was screaming in horror and the walk screamed in victory like some maniac. She snatched the mirror and kneeled down. "Have fun Melody!" She gave me a smile with her bright blue eyes, getting up and running off. I was left stunned and terrified. "And I just..learned to do stuff by myself." By the end of the story I was leaned down on the table, head rested in my arms. All of a sudden, he spoke up. "At least now you know how it feels, to not be spoiled. That's one good thing." I turned to look at him and he shrugged. "Why don't you just do the same thing she did?" I turned back around laying my head down. "I admit I was spoiled sometimes and constantly angry, but I'm not that..heartless." I start getting angry, remembering what she did. "I mean, turning someone to a witch just to save yourself?! And of all people, she chose a child! And the princess, not to mention. That's insane!" With that, I stand up in anger, kicking my chair back. "Okay, so your just gonna stay as a witch." I turn and walk over to him. "Do you ever just shut it? I don't know, Okay?!" He looked at me. "Well isn't there another way? That can't be the only way." I sit down on the bed, fiddling with my hands. "I don't know I don't read those foolish books, I taught myself." He stood up. "Then why don't we take a look." I look up and over at him. I couldn't resist those pleading blue eyes. "Alright, fine." I stand up and walk towards the tiny bookshelf by the entrance. It was officially eight o' clock at night. We sat down and started to pick out books. I guess he's onto something, he's right. I can't stay like this forever. I guess this is the start to a new journey.
