Basically the girl has a really bad sickness which inevitably lead to her death when she turned 22. The elf boy is her childhood best friend and he grew up with her. His friend is a mortal, and he is the immortal. He's about 604 now and refuses to get too close to mortals. As he is afraid of getting close to them and losing them soon after. Little does he know he doesn't have the power to get with them and give them the gift of immortality. He doesn't know this because he was raised with humans his whole life.
I also came up with another few!
One of them is a woman in her 30's, she was taking a calm walk on the road. Now, we have bridges with train tracks on them and sometimes they DO collapse if the bridges aren't maintained. She happened to be walking underneath the bridge right as a train was passing by above her. The bridge collapsed, therefore having itself and the train crush her body. She dies on impact. Now, due to every bone being broken... She got the ability to bend in unimaginable ways in the afterlife. She does have the appearance of a normal human, she isn't aware of the fact she's dead either. She can appear before humans as one of them but due to the fact she kind of just dangles there anymore, she terrifies them. But she has caught the attention of a male spirit who has a more ghostly appearance so I suppose she has a wholesome ending.
I have a fallen seraphim too, or higher angel or smth- but this has nothing to do religion so whatever :D Anyways he kind of did some bad shit so he ended up getting dropped into hell and he chose to cause a ruckus there instead. He's also pretty damn powerful so yeah-
