Can't Lose Her: Part 2

Brief conversation about suicide

Fanum and Duke have been in the waiting room for about 2hrs. Suddenly, Fanum hears a familiar voice.

“I'm lookin for Lavender Heart”

“She's currently in ICU but I can't give you any information. However, you can wait in the waiting room and the doctor should be out shortly.”

“Can you at least give me her room number-”

“I'm sorry sir but I can't-

“Please. That's my heart back there.”

“Ok ok. Room 104. But you're not allowed back there yet because they're working on her”

“Thank you so much” Jordyn walks away smirking.

“How my girl doin?” Jordyn says with a slight look of concern.

“Who tf is this nigga!” Duke stands up

“Man ain't nobody scared of you! Goofy!” Jordyn shouts, not backing down.

“Calm down Jordyn. He's not worth it.”

2 women walk in and sit across from me. It can't be. All I could think of is the last conversation me and Lavender had and then my mind goes to Jordyn saying how she sounded like she couldn't breathe. They caused this.

“Yeah. We're here for my daughter”

It is her. Shadow, in the flesh.

Right before I snap, the doctor comes out.

“Family of Lavender Heart?”

I immediately stand up and start walking towards her. “That's us!”

“Um, I do believe she said family.” Shadow stands up and walks in front of Fanum.

“ So how is she doing?” Her mom ask

‘Yeah. What made her pass out?” Londyn, Lavender's sister asks with a slight attitude.

“Well, I do have some bad news, but I want to reassure you that we have some of the best doctors and nurses here. So-

“Cut the crap! What's going on with my daughter!”

“Well, we were able to stop the bleeding-”

“What bleeding!” Londyn and Shadow shouts.

“Whatever surface that she fell on, she got a deep cut in the back of her head, but that's the least of our worries.”

“Just give us the bad news!”

“It's a few things. 1) The paramedics were able to resuscitate her on the way here, however, she had another seizure when she got here and went into cardiac arrest. But, no need to worry cause  we have some of the best medical professionals that are working on her as we speak. 2) The brain tumor-

“Brain tumor? What brain tumor?” I can barely stand at this point.

“You must have the wrong lavender cause my daughter doesn't have a brain tumor. Go back and-

“According to her chart, it appears she's had it for a while. Has she had any head injuries in the past? Traumatic experiences that caused a lot of stress?

“No, but she used to complain about headaches when she was younger. I didn't think anything of it though. Thought she was just looking for attention.”

“And what does she have to be stressed out about? She has always had a good life. Got whatever she wanted” Londyn is visibly annoyed

“So not one time did you think “These headaches have been going on for too long. Let's go to the hospital and see what's going on?". I mean seriously. What kind of irresponsible parent ignores their child complaining about headaches for years?” It's like she doesn't care.
