The sun hung high in the sky, casting its golden rays over the training grounds where Nezha and Y/N sparred intensely. Nezha panted, sweat dripping down his face, yet he couldn't help but feel a surge of exhilaration. Despite the relentless pace of the training, he cherished these rare moments with Y/N. Her constant presence on the battlefield and his duties guarding the realm meant their time together was often limited.Y/N's movements were swift and precise, each strike and parry executed with grace and power. Nezha found himself on the ground once more, looking up at her smiling face.
"You've improved your speed, Nezha. Keep up the good work," she praised, extending a hand to help him up.
He grasped her hand, a warm feeling spreading through him at her touch. "Thank you, Master Y/N, for—" His words were abruptly cut off as Erlang Shen approached them.
"Y/N, the Jade Emperor summons us," Erlang Shen announced.
Y/N sighed but nodded. "Alright, I'm coming." She turned to Nezha, giving him a small wave. "Goodbye for now, Nezha."
Nezha watched her leave, a pang of disappointment tugging at his heart. He longed for more time with her, but duty always called. "Maybe next time," he muttered to himself.
In the Jade Emperor's grand hall, Y/N found herself surrounded by the celestial council. The discussions dragged on, filled with tedious politics and decisions. Her mind wandered as she grew increasingly bored. With a discreet flick of her wrist, she pulled a hair from her head and transformed it into a clone. The clone took her place among the gods, and Y/N slipped away unnoticed.
Once outside, Y/N breathed a sigh of relief, relishing her brief escape. She wandered through the celestial gardens until she spotted a familiar figure: Azure Lion. The formidable warrior seemed lost in thought, his usual fierce expression replaced by one of deep contemplation.
"Azure Lion," Y/N called out, approaching him.
He looked up, surprised but then smiled warmly. "Y/N, it's good to see you."
Noticing the tension in his eyes, Y/N asked, "What's troubling you?"
Azure Lion hesitated before speaking. "It's the suffering of the Mortal Realm. I joined the Jade Emperor to protect them, but it seems his only concern is maintaining control, not alleviating their hardships."
Y/N listened intently, her heart heavy with his words. She had noticed the same, but hearing it from Azure Lion made it more real. Slowly, she found herself agreeing with his perspective. Yet, the idea of betraying everything she knew was daunting. "If he were overthrown, who could handle the power of the Jade Emperor?" she mused aloud.
Azure Lion's eyes met hers, filled with determination. "Someone who truly cares for the people. Someone like you, Y/N."
Her heart skipped a beat at his words. Could she be the one to bring about change? The thought was both terrifying and exhilarating.
