Ever since Y/N had woken from her long, enchanted sleep, an unfamiliar and unsettling feeling had taken over her body—an insatiable hunger gnawed at her from the inside, growing more intense with each passing day. At first, she thought it was just the result of her extended rest, but something felt different. No matter what she ate, the food wouldn't stay down, and each time she tried to eat, it would end with her retching, her stomach rejecting everything.

Frustrated and confused, she approached Sun Wukong. "Wukong... something's wrong with me," she admitted, her voice laced with concern. "Everything I eat, I can't keep down. I don't understand what's happening."

The Monkey King glanced at her, an odd expression flickering across his face before he gave a sigh. "Well... you're kind of a demon now, Y/N." His voice was gentle, but the words struck her like a blow.

She blinked at him in disbelief. "A demon?" The word sounded so foreign, so unlike her. Once, she had been a Celestial, radiant with grace and purity. To think of herself as a demon was almost unbearable.

Wukong rubbed the back of his neck, uncomfortable with the weight of his confession. "Yeah... it's why you're rejecting regular food. You're craving something else. Human flesh, to be specific." He said it plainly, though he could see the shock in her eyes.

Y/N recoiled in horror, taking a step back. "Human flesh?" The very thought made her skin crawl. She gripped her arms, trying to hold herself together as panic began to set in. "No. No, I can't... I won't eat that!"

Wukong stepped forward, placing a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to calm her down. "Hey, hey, it's okay. You don't have to. There are other ways to manage it." He saw the fear in her eyes, the desperation not to lose herself to the darkness that was now part of her. "You can eat fruit, or maybe... just sleep it off. Sometimes that helps."

Y/N frowned, her breathing still uneven. "Sleep it off?" she repeated, not entirely convinced. "But what if it doesn't work? What if I wake up and... and I'm worse? What if I hurt someone?"

The Monkey King gave her a reassuring smile, although deep inside, he was just as unsure. "It'll work. Trust me. Just close your eyes and sleep. You won't hurt anyone, I promise." He gently guided her toward her bed, pulling the covers over her.

She hesitated, looking up at him with uncertainty. Wukong had been her friend for centuries, her only companion in this dark time. But could she trust him with something like this? Could she trust herself?

Still, she didn't have much of a choice. She couldn't bear the thought of craving human flesh, of becoming a monster. She had to try to hold on to whatever grace and dignity she had left, even if it meant trusting Wukong completely.

"Alright," she whispered, sinking into the bed. "I'll sleep." As she closed her eyes, she vowed to herself that she would keep her composure, that no matter how dark things became, she would not lose her grace. She was still Y/N, even if her body no longer reflected it.

Wukong stood by her bedside, watching her drift off. Once he was sure she was asleep, his usual carefree expression faded into one of deep concern. He had never seen her like this before, and it pained him to think about what she was going through.

The truth was, he wasn't entirely sure if sleeping would help. Demons craved human flesh—it was just part of their nature, something that couldn't be easily avoided. But Y/N was different. She wasn't born a demon, and that gave him some hope that maybe, just maybe, she could resist the pull.

But there were things he hadn't told her, secrets he kept locked away deep within himself. Things about her transformation, and most importantly about the brotherhood. He had been so lonely for so long, and now that she was back, he couldn't risk losing her again. Even if it meant keeping these secrets from her.

"It's for the best," he whispered to himself, his gaze never leaving her sleeping form. "She doesn't need to know... not yet."

For now, he would watch over her, like he always had, and hope that when she awoke, she wouldn't become something she feared. As long as she stayed by his side, he could manage his own demons—the ones buried deep in his heart, hidden from her view.

But for how long? Even he didn't know.
