Damian stood in the midst of a bustling city, the vibrant sounds and sights of the mortal world overwhelming his senses. He took a moment to steady himself, the Sword of Hell had transformed into a black ring on his finger. Everything around him was so different from the dark, infernal landscape he had known all his life. The air was fresh, filled with unfamiliar scents, and the sky above was a brilliant blue, unmarred by the oppressive red glow of Hell. As he began to walk, he noticed the curious glances from passersby. His attire, dark and archaic, contrasted sharply with the modern clothing of the mortals. Damian looked around at what the mortals were wearing, denim and cotton. Damian takes off his suit jacket and throws it onto the floor leaving him in a dress shirt. He felt out of place but determined. He had come this far; he wouldn't turn back now.The dreams had led him here, to this city. He knew he had to find the boy from his visions, but he had no idea where to start. The city was vast, teeming with life, and the boy could be anywhere. Damian decided to begin his search by following the faint tug he felt deep within him, a lingering connection to the boy's call. As he wandered the streets, he observed the mortals around him. They seemed so ordinary, so blissful as if they'd never seen tragedy. Damian envied their ignorance, their ability to live without the constant weight and burden he felt. Yet, he also felt a sense of pride, knowing he was more important than them, Knowing he wasn't expendable.
Hours passed, and the sun began to rise, casting a warm golden glow over the city. Damian found himself in a park, surrounded by nature and the usual wild animals. The scene was peaceful, a stark contrast to the chaos of Hell. He sat on a bench, watching the few mortals who'd apparently lived in the park due to the tents he saw. That's when he felt it—a sudden, intense pull towards a specific direction. He stood, following the unseen thread that connected him to the boy. It led him through winding streets and plazas and squares as big as the throne room. Damian's heart raced as he walked into a large apartment building. He walked past the slobs that were sat in the entrance lobby to the place/
He then approached an apartment, He could feel the boy's presence here, stronger than ever before. Taking a deep breath, Damian knocked on the door. There was a brief pause before it opened, revealing a woman in her mid-thirties. She had tanned skin and the most beautiful and kind blue eyes he'd ever looked in. He'd never seen someone look at him with such warmth. "Can I help you?" she asked."I'm looking for someone," Damian said, trying to keep his voice calm and from wavering as he stared at the woman.
"A boy. I believe he lives here."The woman's eyes widened slightly, and she glanced over her shoulder. "Are you from Percy's world?" The woman said as Damian felt his heart race. Damian nodded then he replied. "It's important that I speak with him." She studied him for a moment, then stepped aside. "Come in."Damian entered the house, the interior cozy and inviting. The woman led him to a small room, where a boy was gazing intensely at his window. Damian's breath caught in his throat as he recognized the boy from his dreams. "Percy." the woman called softly. "There's someone here to see you."The boy looked up, his green eyes wide with surprise. He stood, staring at Damian as if he had seen a ghost. "You... you're real?" Percy whispered as if he didn't quite believe his eyes.
Damian nodded, stepping closer. "As real as I can be." Percy did a suspicious once over on him. "I had a dream about you, You were in some underground place."Damian ran his hand through his hair, looking into Percy's eyes. "Why did you call to me? What's happening?" Percy glanced nervously at his mother then back to Damian, who gave him a half hearted glare. "So? What's your deal." Percy took a deep breath. "I've been having these dreams. This entire year. There's something coming. I don't know what but it's something of myth but I've never heard anything about it. I can tell, it wants to hurt people. But you, you can stop it cant you? That's why my dreams showed me you."Damian felt a chill run down his spine.
Percy's dreams were more than just nightmares—they were visions, warnings of a looming threat. "I don't know what you're talking about. I've never heard of anything like this where i'm from."Damian's mind raced. Even though he pretended otherwise, He knew what Percy was describing—a powerful demon, one from hell, One he thought his father had sealed eons ago. He had to act fast, but he also needed more information."Anything else? Just that?" Damian asked, his voice urgent. Percy shook his head. "No. But there's not really much to go off of is there? Other than some scrawny boy and a shadow in my dreams" Percy said with a hint of snarkiness. Damian felt his hand clench, "Don't get snappy with me because your dreams aren't useful." He stated.
Damian had always hated when someone was disrespectful to him. "Weren't they useful enough to call you here?" Percy asked his tone filled with distaste. "Screw off."Damian turned to Percy's mother. "Is he always like this or did he just choose to be annoying today?" He questioned. She simply sighed "I can tell whatever you're getting him into is dangerous. I want you to swear to me nothing will happen to him." She asked of him.Damian gave her a look, He felt envy well up in his chest thinking of his own father and how'd he'd never care this much about him. Damian nodded "I swear to watch out for him." He stated.
"Mom no way you're trusting this guy." Percy butted in "We don't know who he is, where he's from, he could be a monster in disguise for all we know." He said as Damian sighed "My name is Damian Morningstar." He said clearly as he stood up straighter, He could practically feel his father breathing down his neck. "Morningstar...As in, Lucifer Morningstar?" Percy questioned, he knew little to nothing about Abrahamic mythology but he knew enough to know who the king of hell was. Damian nodded "You're familiar with my dad, Great." He said as Percy shook his head.
"Back up dude, Your dad is Lucifer Morningstar? As in king of hell Morningstar?" Percy asked as Damian nodded "I'm not evil if you're wondering." He said as Percy shook his head. "No, that's not it. I wasn't even aware of those gods." He said as Damian tensed. He'd never liked the mention of the man upstairs, He had a natural affliction to anything and everything related to him. "What? What do you mean? Who's your parent?" Damian questioned in confusion as he looked at Percy. "Dude, My dad's Poseidon." Percy said as Damian's eyes widened.
Damian had been taught about the other pantheons when he was a child. However, He never expected that he'd actually meet someone from another pantheon. "You're kidding." He said as Percy shook his head. "We're from two different pantheons. Us meeting has to be against some ancient law..." Damian said as Percy shrugged "I'm certain I've broken one or two of those." He said as Damian couldn't stop the smile that appeared on his face. "Your smiles pretty," Percy blurted "What?" Damian asked as he looked over at Percy who'd flushed red. "Sorry." He muttered as he turned away.
Percy glanced at the clock on his dresser and sighed "I'm going to miss my train. This conversation has to get cut short," He said as Damian stopped him from walking away. "Where are you going? I could come with." He said as Percy shook his head "It's called school and you kind of need admission to go there so..." Percy trailed off as Damian let go of him. "A...school?" He questioned, He'd heard of those but he'd never went. "Yeah. Haven't you been to a school?" Percy asked as Damian shook his head. "School is like the second worst thing in my life." Percy said as Damian looked at him.
"If it's that bad it's a wonder my dad didn't send me." Damian says as Percy cracked a smile. "You stay here okay? When i get back we'll talk." Percy said talking to Damian as if he were a animal or something. "I'm not dumb." Damian said as Percy just gave him a look Damian couldn't understand. "After school okay?" Percy said as he walked out of his room leaving Damian on the bed confused.
