It was over. The war was finally over. The order had won. Voldemort was dead.
"Sorry about your dad." Blaise suddenly says, as all the boys stand on what's left of the battleground. Mattheo and Tom both look over at him, grimaces on their faces.
"He was a piece of shit. The world will be better off without him." Mattheo utters, his voice laced with venom and disdaiment, while Tom stays silent.
"We're all alive. That's the main thing." Theo says, smiling weakly at the rest of the group as they nod in agreement.
"Hang on." Enzo says all of a sudden, causing the boys to snap their attention up to him. "Where's y/n?" He asks, the worry in his voice clear.
The boys immediately begin to scan the area, a tense silence descending among the group as they realise you're nowhere to be seen.
"Let's check the great hall." Draco suggests hopefully.
"Yeah maybe she's gone to help out there." Blaise says optimistically. They quickly hurry to the great hall where multiple bodies are laid out, some alive and being tended to by various people, others hidden by a thin cover, clearly dead.
Enzo rushes up to Madam Pomfrey without a second thought, anxiously asking if she's seen you.
"Sorry but she's not come in here. Maybe check the dorms?" Madam Pomfrey suggests gently, and after a quick thank you, the boys race off to the dorms to see if you're there."She'll be here. She has to be." Mattheo assures the group as they finally reach the dorms. Tom firmly knocks on your door waiting for an answer. When you don't answer Draco lets out a frustrated sigh.
"Y/n! If you don't open up now we'll bang down the door!" Draco yells, only to be met with a continued silence.
"Right I'm knocking the door down." Blaise says, taking a few steps back.
"Or just try the handle?" Enzo suggests, pulling the handle down and opening up the door with a click. The boys faces all pale as the door opens and they see you.
"y/n?!" Theo yells, immediately rushing to where you're lying on your bed, you skin deathly pale, your wand limply lying in your hand at your side.
"come on cara mia, wake up. Wake up for me. Please." Theo begs, gently tapping your cheek, his voice cracking with each word as you still don't respond.
"Mate, it's too late." Blaise gently says, grabbing Theo's arm and pulling him away from your side.
A dark silence descends over the boys as they stare at your body."She left a note." Tom states suddenly, noticing and picking up a piece of paper left on your bedside table.
"What does it say?" Mattheo asks, his voice thick with tears as he glances between you and Tom.Dear Mattheo, Theodore, Lorenzo, Draco, Blaise and Tom, I'm sorry.
If you're reading this letter, then it means I am dead. I wish this wasn't the case, but it was the only way to save you all.The why will become clear shortly, but I first want to let you know how much I love you all and how dearly I've valued your friendship these past few years. You've truly been the best friends someóne could ask for and I will miss you all so, so much.
That being said, I feel I owe you an explanation. If you're reading this then you've won. You've defeated Voldemort. Unfortunately, if I was still alive, that may not have been the case. I discovered that Voldemort planned to use me as leverage against you all, by kidnapping me and threatening my life in order to convince you to join his side. I knew this couldn't happen, but as long as I was alive, you were all in danger. So, I took things into my own hands. At the start of the battle, when we all went our separate ways, I came here; to my dorm. I knew it had to be over before Voldemort even had a chance to get to me, so I wrote this note for you all, to say the things I couldn't say whilst alive, and leave you with some explanation. Then, I lay on my bed and Avada Kedavra'd myself, in the hope that you would all be spared.
Hopefully my sacrifice has not been in vain. I know you will all be sad for a while, but I don't want you to think of me too often. I want you to be happy. I want you to live the lives that I could not. I want you to fall in love and have families and grow old together. If there's one thing I ask of you, it's to enjoy what you have. Enjoy the people in your life and never take them for granted. I fear I took my time with you for granted and didn't tell you often enough how much I love you guys.
I will always love you. Always. Even in death, I'll be watching over you, loving you from afar, keeping an eye on you.
I am sorry that I had to leave you, but it was for the best.Goodbye my boys,
y/n x"so she's dead... because of us?" Enzo asks, tears streaming down his face.
"Not because of us. For us." Mattheo says, smiling sadly as Tom finishes reading the note and puts it back down on your
"Even though he's already dead, I wish I could kill him all over again just for this." Draco says, wiping under his eyes turiously, as tears drop down his cheeks.
"We can't change anything. We just have to accept that what's done is done.
Blaise sighs, staring at you, lost in thought."How can we just accept this! Y/n is dead!" Theo cries, not bothering to stop the sobs escaping his lips, as Mattheo puts a comforting arm around his shoulder, the two of them holding each other close.
"She wants us to move on. She died to save us. The least we can do is honour her wishes." Tom says bluntly, walking over to you and gently brushing a strand of hair from your face.
"Goodbye doll." He whispers, gently pressing a kiss to your forehead before straightening up and striding out the room."I guess we all just say our goodbyes then?" Draco asks, before walking over to you and gently grabbing your hand. "We'll spare no expense on your funeral my love. You'll get the send off you deserve." He promises, gently squeezing your cold hand, before leaving the room after Tom.
Blaise and Enzo both walk up to you and sigh sadly as they look at your pallid complexion.
"y/n was the best of us." Enzo says quietly, smiling down at you gently.Blaise nods quietly in agreement, both of them gently kissing your forehead before exiting the room until just Mattheo and Theo are left.
"I still can't believe this is the end." Mattheo mutters quietly and Theo nods his head.
"Don't think of it as goodbye. Think of it as, 'see you later." Theo says grimly, betore walking up to you and gently cupping your face with his hand.
"Even in death you're beautiful." He whispers sadly to you. "Sleep tight bella." He sighs, before taking a step back to let Mattheo see you.
"See you later darling." Mattheo gently says, before the two of them leave your room, shutting the roor firmly behind them.
