She went and opened the door only to find that man standing infront of her wearing a black blazer.
" let's go", he said.
"Um..ok", she said
He scanned her from top to bottom. He glided his hands into his pockets of pants, nodded and said narrowing his eyes, " don't you think it will be weird if you go to a jwellery shop wearing thiss"
She was wearing black shorts with a plain white t-shirt. She had made a bun.
She looked at him confusingly and said, "what do you mean? Lemme get ready first"
"What? It's already 5:57 and you need more time to get ready? ", he asked in disbelief
" Or what? I have to get ready. It's your fault that you didn't inform me that you are coming now. I can't go like this. You have to give me time to get ready", she said
"See, you don't need to change. Come with me and sit in the car. I don't have that time wait more.", he said and headed towards his black mercedes.
" what?! How ca--"
"Shut up please and do what I said", he said not looking back
She rolled her eyes, " fine!"
He opened the door and she sat inside. He also sat and started driving.
He was driving with a cold face which was annoying gautami too much as she was getting bored.
"Why don't you say anything?", she asked finally breaking the ice between them.
"What do you want me to say?", he asked while focusing on the road.
" Whatever you want! But don't remain silent, it's too annoying.", she said
"Do you mind if I discuss about our office work?", he asked, still focusing on his driving.
"Noo! Who the hell would like to talk about work?? Well even if someone does then it's definitely not me. Say something else", she said
"We are going to buy ring for my wedding, you know that right? Then what could be the topic of our discussion right now? You say whatever you want.", he said, not diverting his gaze from the road.
As soon as gautami realised that the ring is for his wedding, his and his sister Geeta's wedding, she felt silent.
Her throat ached. She looked out of the window, so he won't be able to notice her teary eyes.
He looked at her. After a minute as the silence felt heavy between them, he said breaking it, "what happened?
" hmm? N-no nothing..I'm fine", she said
After few minutes he stopped the car infront of a huge mall.
"What happened? Why did you stop the car here? It's not a jwellery shop! It's a mall. Seems like it's really luxurious. Things will be really costly. What happened? Tell me", she said all this in one breath out of curiosity while he was sitting patiently waiting for her to stop.
" Done? Lemme tell you we are here to buy something.", he said looking at her
"Of course but what will you buy from here? You didn't tell me about this. We were supposed to buy ring. Then what are we doing here?", she asked being confused.
He said nothing, came out of his car, opened the door for her and told her to come with him.
She walked ran behind him.
" hey ! Why don't you answer me? I asked you something. What do we have to buy now?", she said but he didn't reply.
"Are you deaf?", she shouted out of anger and frustration.
He stopped and turned towards her with a done face. "Would you mind if I you to keep quiet for 1 minute please?", he said in sarcastic tone.
"Fine!", she said ans went with him into the mall.
He stopped at a place and told her, "Did you forget what you are wearing?"
She realised and said, "oh shit! I actually forgot about it. Ooooooh so that's why we are here. You should have informed me before.", she said with an awkward smile.
He nodded and said, "hmm, now go and pick up any dress and wear it"
"But I don't have that much money with me right now. And these dresses seems really expensive.", she said
" You don't have to worry for that. Just do what I said.", he said gliding his hands in his pocket. It seems like it's his signature move.
"But-", she was about to say something.
"Please!", he ordered
After searching for almost half an hour, she picked up a dress and went to the trial room.
She wore it and stood infront if the mirror. The black dress gracefully enveloped her figure. The thin straps were revealing her shoulders. The dress hugged her body perfectly highlighting her figure. She looked beautiful overall.
" Am I looking good? What if I'm looking weird? Should I go like this?", she thought
She thought to ask him. He was standing just infront of the trial room. She grabbed a part of his shirt and pulled him inside. But due to the sudden force he stumbled and almost fell on her. His hands rested on the wall which caged her.
He was too close that she could feel his breath warm against her soft skin.
Her heartbeat became fast.
The beautiful black dress perfectly fitting on her body, drew his attention. His gaze lingered on her. His hands found there way to her hair and opened the catcher releasing the curls giving them the permission to fall on her shoulder.
Shivers ran down her spine as he whispered against her ear "You look gorgeous.. "
"Don't you think that people are gonna look at you instead of jwellery", he added making her blush
He moved closer and she gulped. Her breath hitched as his fingers teasingly traced its path down her arm. He moved his face towards her. Their noses were just an inch apart. There eyes were closed.
They parted as they heard a knock on the trial room. He cleared his throat and said " I..I'm sorry" and went from there hurriedly feeling embarrassed.
She was embarrassed as well. Her cheeks were pink by now. She cleared her throat and went from the trial room.
