This Feels So Right To Me

Tee had her young boys during the week, so it made it difficult for any evening contact with Holly. Tee's days were getting busier as her time at the business was coming to an end and her break from work life was oh so close. Dropping her boys to school, she had some morning meetings before a long lunch with colleagues as the first of many farewells for Tee. Tee spent much of her morning texting Holly her dismay in needing to front the long lunch. She'll be one of two women in a room of over 30 men. A huge reason why Tee decided her time at the business was due to come to an end. Being the only female voice in a boardroom was becoming tiring, but especially when she fought back, she was labelled a bitch or told to calm down. Her male boss recently caught himself in a public drunken outing, but no one said a word or batted an eyelid. If anything, everyone laughed and thought it was hilarious.

Tee: I know it sounds silly that the event is literally for me, but I really don't want to go. I can't be bothered with all the stupid masculine talk. Pretending they are good at golf, smelling of beer. Arghhhh.

Tee was sharing her frustration with Holly via text message. Holly's Friday morning super busy with work, whilst Tee sat in meetings she tuned out of weeks ago.

Holly: I know honey. But hey, there is not many left. Just a couple more and no more smelly men.

Holly didn't like the idea of Tee going either. Especially when it made her so uncomfortable and not pleasant to be a part of. She found this new feeling of wanting to protect Tee. A strange feeling when Tee was the mature person to this new relationship.

Tee: Hmm. I guess I will just have a few glasses of wine to help get me through.

Tee confessed. Holly wasn't a big drinker and didn't like the idea of hiding emotions with alcohol, but it wasn't her position to express that to Tee.

Holly: You do what you need to do. I will just be at home tonight so call me if you need.

Holly's day had gotten away from her and she finally retreated to being at home. Indulging in a bowl of gnocchi pasta and a nice bottle of wine for dinner. Holly hadn't heard from Tee since the morning. That could mean Tee was actually enjoying herself, or wallowing in a little too much wine to suppress her true feelings at being at the event. The night was getting late, but Holly was unable to sleep, expecting some kind of message from Tee. Just as the clock hit midnight, the a text appeared

Tee: I am so drunk.

Holly was immediately concerned, wanting to know where Tee was. She didn't hesitate to pick up the phone. After a couple of rings, a slurred sounding Tee answered the phone.

"Hello baby"

Holly was taken back by the nickname. They hadn't yet established sweet names for each other, except maybe in moments of passion.

"Tee. Where are you?"

The background seemed very quiet.

"I am in a cab, heading home. Well I think"

She thinks? Holly was now very concerned.

"Honey. I want you to come to my place. Put me on speaker so I can tell the driver my address".

Thankfully they weren't far from Holly's house and the taxi driver quickly made a detour.

Arriving to Holly's, it meant a climb of stairs to Holly's front door. Already worried for Tee's state, Holly met Tee at the bottom of the staircase. As the women entered the door of Holly's apartment, Tee immediately reached for the sides of Holly's face, pulling her in for a deep kiss. Holly wrapped her arms around Tee for embrace but also for support on unsteady feet. Unlocking lips for just a moment, Tee finally spoke but with tears in her eyes
