Edward Cullen

My lungs ached as I sprinted through the woods, my paws stinging from slamming them down onto the forest floor. I could feel small splinters and pebbles wedged into my paw pads but I didn't have time to get them out. I could hear the excited hollers of the vampires behind me as they chased me through the woods, which urged me to run faster. 

I knew I could take a few on but their whole clan was chasing me down, and I was too far away from my pack to call for them to help. So all I could do was run as far as I could and hopefully lose them in the woods that I knew very little of. 

I growled in annoyance as I had to skid to a stop when I approached a steep cliff. I looked down to see if I could make the jump, only to find jagged rocks at the bottom. I snarled and turned to run parallel to the cliff but realized I was surrounded. 

The vampires laughed and jeered as they surrounded me, making whimpering noises as they lunged forward to scare me. 

I wasn't scared easily and knew they were just playing with me so I stood my ground and snapped at any vampire that got to close. But they were closing in and I had to stop myself from slipping against the smooth stone under my paws. 

Just as I was about to attack the closest vampire, the beast on my right was pulled away. That got the attention of the rest of the clan as the sounds of fighting could be heard in the woods. I didn't know what that was but I took it as my chance to pounce on the nearest vampire. He didn't see me coming and I was able to get my jaws around his head and I gave it a sharp pull, relishing in the feeling of his skin breaking like porcelain. 

The other three vampires snarled at me and went to pounce but another one got knocked out of the way and pulled into the woods. The second one ran after the mysterious creature and the first one snarled at me and attacked. I managed to swipe her away with my paw but she only jumped back onto her feet. She bared her fangs at me, her feet crunching into the snow underfoot before launching herself at me once more. I dodged at the last moment, spun around and clamped my jaws around her shoulder. 

She screamed in pain as I whipped my head back and forth before her arm ripped free. The vampire went to scramble away, and before I could finish her off, pale white hands grabbed her head and twisted it violently, before tossing her remains over the cliff. 

I went to growl at the new vampire, not knowing if he was an enemy or not but once I made eye contact with his black orbs, the hair on my spine flatten and I sat on my haunches. 

Edward Cullen?

There he was, his pale skin glimmering in the sunlight, his brown hair neat as can be with his hands in his pant pockets. 

"Amara? Is that you?" The vampire asks, his eyes lighting up when they saw my wolf form. I looked down at him with glee, my tail unconsciously wagging behind me. "Wow, it's been forever. What are you doing on my territory?" 

My eyes widened at his words, my gaze sweeping the forest around me. 

I didn't know this was your territory. I thought I was still in Canada. I thought, sheepishly, knowing he could read my thoughts. I didn't mean to intrude. I bumped into that clan of vampires on my travels and they chased me all the way over the border I guess. 

Edward chuckled and nodded, looking back into the forest where the rest of the vampires laid dead, no doubt. 

"No, it's alright. If Carlisle knew you were here, he'd be overjoyed. You know how he is with old friends." Edward chuckled, looking back to me. He took a few steps closer to me, his almost black eyes never leaving my form. 

Unfortunately, I can't stay very long. I must return to my pack before the pack leader notices I'm gone. I say, saddened at the fact I wouldn't be able to spend time with my old friend. Edward nodded in understanding, stepping away. I cocked my head to the side in confusion as we made eye contact once more.
