Today is the day.
I had no idea how to sneak out or lie to my brothers. They were worse than the FBI. They literally check on me every minute and it would be matter of minutes before they realise I'm missing and find me!
I was currently in my fourth class and today was my second day. I was nervously tapping my foot when the teacher whose name I don't know, called me.
"Amelia, tell me the answer to the 3rd question" she said with a raised eyebrow.
Shit. Which class was this again?
Everyone was looking at me which made me a bit sick. I was about to say I didn't know when the person behind me threw something at me.
"Psss. It's A" a girl said.
"A" I said immediately.
"You can sit down" she said with an eyeroll.
I looked back to see a girl with curly, chocolate brown hair and Amber eyes. She looked at me with a huge, sweet smile.
"Hi I'm Giana" she said, extending her hand.
I was about to ignore her when i thought of something.
Perfect.
"Nice to meet you Giana" I replied with a smirk and shook her hand.
__________
"Dad I told you. I'm going on a sleepover with my friend Giana" I said for the hundredth time.
"Lia, what if she approached you with an ulterior motive. Let us do a background check first." Raffaele took the phone from dad and said.
Seriously, why are they so overprotective?! Just take the godamn excuse and let me go already.
"Raff, she's literally the sweetest girl. She wouldn't even hurt a fly let alone be an underground gang member. Don't be so absurd!" I said loosing my patience.
"Then I'll come with you. I won't even breath. It'll be like I'm not even there" Matteo said, taking the phone from Raffaele.
"ITS A GIRLS SLEEPOVER!"
"You just met her. I don't trust her with my sister." Carlo so.
They are impossible. And are they playing passing the phone or what?!
Although I felt bad for lying to them, I didn't have any choice.
Just then Giana came hopping along on my side with her signature bright smile.
"Oh! Is that your overprotective brothers you told me about. I'll talk to them" she said.
I gave her the phone, putting it on speaker, almost giving up on this plan.
"Hello there! I'm Giana Hayes. Don't worry about Am, I'll take good care of her I promise!" She said jumping a bit.
"O-okay then. I trust you with my sister" Raffaele who had the phone now, replied.
That easily? Now I'm a little offended. I chuckled as Giana turned and smiled, excited.
"Thank you" I said.
"Sure! It's what friends are for. And don't worry, if they call I'll tell them your in the bathroom or asleep. And I can mimick too! Although I'm not so good at it, I'm practicing. I'll talk to them in your voice." She said getting serious.
"I'm sorry. My brothers can be a bit too much sometimes. I really needed to be somewhere today." I didn't need to explain things to her and normaly I wouldn't bother but something about her made me think she owed an explanation.
"I know. It can get a bit suffocating." She said with a sad, knowing look. "Oh and, I'll keep my back door open. You said you'll be out til 12 right. You can sleep at my house"
"No. Don't worry about that. I'll manage" I said. She already did enough.
"I insist. Your literally the only friend I managed to make in this school. I'm new here too!"
"You'll surely make many friends in no time" I laughed.
She was really outgoing and extrovert.
"I doubt that" she said as her face fell again.
Something tells me that her life was not all sunshine and rainbow as it seems but I decided not to pry.
________
It was currently 9:30 pm.
School ended hours ago. I stopped my Giana's house to drop off my phone and things in case they track me, and spent some time there. Her mother was really sweet and just like her.
Surprisingly, we ended up having a long conversation. We both were polar opposites but somehow we got along well.
She reminded me a lot of Ashley... My hand fell instinctively on my stomach as I gently stroked it.
At around 8, I left her house and took a cab. I got off on an empty street.
I looked around for Delan's kitchen and found an old run down building with its sign.
Opposite of that was a huge building that looked like it was undergoing renovation. I felt uneasy and nervous.
What if I was at the wrong address?
I went in anyway but the building had a digital lock at its door, which looked quite new...and expensive.
Guess I was at the right place.
I typed in the code but the lock was not working. The door opened and that's when I realised the lock was broken. Or someone broke it.
Since there was no dent or scratch I assume they hacked into it.
Hacking a hacker. Great!
My hand slid to the gun that was safely straped at my back. I always had a gun with me and thankfully my family didn't notice.
I looked around, carefully analysing the surroundings. Something felt uneasy.
The lock was deactivated, that's for sure. And it was definitely not Ares.
What if someone already got to him. What if Marcelo finally found him. All sorts of thoughts crossed my mind and it made me sick.
I needed to find Ares. I just hope I'm not too late.
I sneaked around searching from room to room. I was trained for such things and if I by chance ,encounter someone I would gladly take them down.
I reached an open space. It was huge with pillars and a big chandelier.
For a run down building, this looked like a fucking 5 star hotel.
That's when I spotted him. Ares Black.
He had his back towards me as he looked before him. My jaw dropped as I saw what he was looking at.
The whole wall was covered with huge screens and computers with codes in green and many photos and files open.
I slowly made my way towards him. He had a black shirt on with jeans and his tatto was visible which climbed along his neck. His jet black hair was messy and although I could only see his back, I knew he changed a lot since I last saw him. Muscles bulged from his shirt but he wasn't too bulky. Just the right amount....
I was snapped from my thoughts as someone pulled me to the ground and a hand covered my mouth.
My hand slid to my gun and my other hand on my stomach. I was about to bite that hand and shoot his brains when I saw who it was.
Lucas!?
