Author's Pov
Standing in front of the full length mirror she admired her reflection. Her white off shoulder gown is enhancing the glow of her face , her hair is tied into a bun and white roses are pinned up in it.
She stands alone in the makeup room, the silence of a heavy presence. She looks at herself in the mirror, her face a mix of nerves and anticipation.
She feels a flutter of excitement in the pit of her stomach, but it's tinged with a dash of anxiety. She can't help but notice the makeup artist is taking their time, and the minutes seem to stretch out forever.
The girl tries to focus on taking slow, steady breaths to calm herself down, but the butterflies in her stomach refuse to settle.
She takes in the room - the bright lights flickering overhead, the smell of makeup and perfume lingering in the air. She runs her fingers over the fabric of her wedding dress, feeling the smooth material under her fingertips, taking comfort in its familiar touch as if it's a shield protecting her from the world outside.
In just a few hours she will leave the place where she is staying from the moment she opened her eyes to someone else's house who promised to love her and care for her till the end of his life.
Will he keep his promise?
The weight of the moment was both exhilarating and intimidating, and she couldn't help but wonder what the future would hold for her once the vows were spoken.
The bride took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. She glanced at her reflection in the mirror, her thoughts taking shape as she whispered to herself.
"Is he really the one?"
"Will he take care of me, cherish me, and love me unconditionally?"
"Will he be supportive and understanding, or will he change after the wedding?"
Doubts and insecurities crept into her mind, making her question if she was making the right choice.
She forced a smile, trying to push the negative thoughts aside. "No, stop it. You chose him because you love him and he loves you. He is kind, caring, and has always shown you nothing but love and respect. Stop doubting yourself. You are making the right choice. Everything will be fine."
But little did she know that a big storm is waiting for her.
She tried to focus on the happy moments that lay ahead, but a small part of her mind couldn't help but wonder if she was making the right decision. Her thoughts were a jumble of scattered emotions, and she tried her best to take deep breaths to calm herself down.
She remained nostalgic about the good old days she has spent with her family and friends, the corner of her eyes pricked up some tears, as she realised that she finally grew up.
The nostalgia hit her hard, like a wave crashing against the shore of her memories. She remembered the carefree days of her childhood, when her only worry was what to play next with her siblings.
She thought of the countless sleepovers and adventures she had shared with her best friends, laughing until their sides hurt. And now, as she stood on the precipice of adulthood, the tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she realized that those days were gone forever. She had grown up, and there was no going back.
She is leaving her family now, she has grown up to a beautiful lady now, who will have responsibilities on her shoulders now not her father's hand.
With a mix of sadness and excitement, she realized that this was it - the transition from childhood to adulthood. The thought of leaving her family, the people who had protected and guided her throughout her life, made her heart ache a little.
