Judah Skye Mizrahi
Orlando Florida
Sunday 5:20 pm.
Dec 16th.

Judah sighed slouching more into his seat his phone on his lap and his AirPod Pro maxes over his ears. He knew conversations were being held around him but he didn't care.

He stared at his phone watching the bottles fall down the stairs but he wasn't paying attention. He was zoning in and out of consciousness trying to convince himself that he was okay.

A soft and tiny hand was placed on his chest making him look up towards the culprit. Judah knew it couldn't be anyone else other than Dylan.

Her hand traveled up to his face pulling his close to hers before sliding one side of his headphones off so he could hear her.

"What's the matter?" She asked rubbing his exposed ear with her fingertips. Judah shook his head pulling her hand from his face and returned to his initial position but left his headphones off; hoping she'd talk to him some more. He didn't wanna talk about what was wrong with him but he did wanna talk to her.

He felt like since the whole time they'd been at Monet's planned dinner she'd given her attention to all the moms. Judah didn't like that and felt like she was ignoring him. He barely spoke as it was so when people ignored him he felt stupid for speaking. Judah didn't care how 'Sassy' he seemed for being in his feelings.

He'd seen how some of the guys looked at him and snickered when they first arrived. Judah wasn't dumb, he knew Dylan noticed too and that was the reason she'd been ignoring him. She wasn't deliberately ignoring him but she'd reject his touch and questions he'd ask. He didn't like anyone there besides her and his brother- Maybe even Monet but that was a hard maybe.

Judah looked up meeting eyes with Olivia for what felt like the Hundredth time. She wasn't seductively looking at him but more in a questioning way. Judah rolled his eyes before sliding his phone in his pocket and stood from the table causing everyone to stop chattering and look over at him.

He walked back towards the front and out the restaurant doors. He'd remembered seeing a bench out front near the parking lot and that's exactly where he left to sit. His mind going a million miles with several speed bumps, his head started to hurt and suddenly he wanted his braids gone. His hands coming up to pull at them hopefully to relieve some tension.

Judah slowed down on his pulling feeling a presence sit next to him, their body slightly rocking side to side. He knew it wasn't Dylan because she'd worn Sambas and her perfume scent was warm.

"I'm Olivia and I've struggled with substance abuse and withdrawal my whole life. My mother was an Addict and I was born with Substances in my system." Olivia's soft raspy voice silenced the hard winds. Judah paused pulling his hands away from his head.

Judah shook his head letting a small chuckle escape. He didn't know if that was supposed to make him feel better but it didn't. Here she was with an actual reason to be addicted and he chose it and was stuck.

"I could tell just by your quick mood changes, always in your head and very quiet but often watching. You always look high and tired but never smell of weed, staring out of space and talking to yourself in your head." Olivia spoke again leaving Judah dumbfounded. He'd thought he was a well-put-together addict but turns out there's more to an addict than their hygiene, looks and ways of living.

"Am I supposed to feel bad?" He Asked finally looking up and at her. His head tilted mockingly. Olivia shook her head no and continued rocking her son in her arms.

"Just wanted you to know that eventually, you do start to want change for yourself and not just for the people around you but for yourself."

"I was in and out of my daughter's life up until she turned five. I realized how much of a mistake I made choosing substances over my child, my fiancé raising her the whole time. Ezrah Isn't even her biological dad and I would forever owe him."
