forman's basement. 5:47 pm.

'and that's how the american government robs us to our faces while making us believe we're willingly paying for this shit', hyde sighs, looking through a playboy magazine with fez by his side. fez brought it over and little did he know it will cause the anarchist in hyde to him a whole critique over america's sex sells policy.

'if they want me to pay for titties, i will pay', fez responds defeat, making hyde groan in frustration. 'me too, man, and that's why we'll never be rich', he finally admits.

'maybe if you had a real woman you'd be rich', maeve added with a smug look, enjoying messing with the boys. hyde rolled his eyes at her statement, 'yes cause she'd tell me to print more money' he retorted with an ironic smile. maeve knew how to push his buttons and it was her favorite thing. before their conversation could continue, eric and donna walked in.

'hey maeve', donna said as she sat down next to maeve, 'did you finish that paper or are you gonna turn us down tonight too?'. donna was referring to the past 3 days in which maeve had turned down the night outings of the gang in order to work on an english lit paper. truth is, maeve was an academic weapon. well, her situation at home wasn't necessarily the best and she didn't get much encouragement to go to school. therefore, she worked over time to keep her grades and attendance neat, making her earn a scholarship that would keep her there. she liked school, she liked studying, and most of all - she loved reading in a true love type of way.

'i'm done with it. what are we doing tonight?' maeve replied. 'i don't know about tonight but right now, i'm feeling circle', eric responded, a silly smile on his face. everyone sat in their usual spot - and maeve was next to steven, as always. 'nerds aren't allowed, man', he told her, trying to pass the blunt to donna that was after maeve. in response, she gripped his arm and pulled it down, bringing the joint right to her lips, 'can't outsmart the smartie, steven'.

'guys kelso is totally banging my sister', eric said, concerned. they all laughed at his expression. 'dude chill, it's not like he lasts enough to make it count', maeve says, chuckling, followed by hyde asking 'does it ever count with laurie?'. steven and maeve share a fist bump while laughing.

their whole lives, they bonded over making fun of everyone and each other. it was their routine, a mixture of endless political discussions and banter. maeve was 12 when she moved to point place and she first met the guys in some random school gathering. her first ever interaction with them, actually, was throwing a frosting covered cupcake in eric's face because he laughed at her t-shirt. it had a poorly drawn skull on it, which maeve did herself. she took great offense in his joke so she took a cupcake and smeared frosting all over his face. that's when hyde knew maeve would be the only girl he ever got along with.

'come on, eric, laurie bangs anything that moves', donna scoffs, rolling her eyes. 'i want to bang too...', fez says, pouting, 'maeve please bang with me?', he turns to the brunette girl. she almost chokes on air at his sudden question, 'fez, i can't bang, i can only pow, i'm sorry', she says in mocking seriousness.

as the evening settles, the gang has a sudden change of plans. as stoned as he was, eric was living his wildest dream when red called him upstairs to give him the vista cruiser. when he came back to the basement with the car keys, everyone squealed and cheered in excitement. that's how they decided to go to the concert. 'eric you are one lucky motherfucker!', maeve swoons over the car. she wasn't necessarily much of a car enthusiast, but she had an eye for all things vintage and tasteful. plus, she always wanted to have a car of her own so she could disappear whenever she wanted, wherever she wanted. she gets in the backseat, with steven, kelso and fez before they all realize there's not enough room. the guys ask maeve to sit in steven's lap and jackie in kelso's, figuring it's the best way to save space. donna sat in front, next to eric.

maeve wasn't phased by sitting in steven's lap. growing up together, they got used to the usual physical contact friends have. she liked steven because unlike fez or kelso, he could handle some contact without having to turn the situation sexual. or at least he fought against it seamlessly so she never noticed it. in reality, steven was a bit shocked when he felt maeve's weight on his lap. they weren't kids anymore and he considered maeve to be quite pretty, although he would never ever admit that out loud. he was mostly concerned his body would react to her before his mind can do something. he didn't know where to put his hands, but when eric took a sharp turn and maeve was almost sent flying off of him, he quickly grabbed her waist and held her in place. he felt odd holding her, smelling her perfume so up close and feeling the warmth of her body against him - no, steven, no! he scolded himself inside. he couldn't possibly see maeve as a girl, right?

'eric, turn the volume up!', maeve whined as 'evil woman' by ELO played. she sang along and donna joined her. they loved this song. steven enjoyed the little show with a slight smile on his face. eric also joined on some ad-libs, making everyone burst into laughter. they all got so lost in the groove that when eric's car engine abruptly stopped, they barely noticed. it was only when, ironically, kelso asked 'guys, did we intentionally stop moving for your rockstar antics...?', that eric's movements stopped in horror.

they eventually made it to the car service. the mechanic told eric the battery is way too old to take them to milwaukee. problem is, they don't have any money to buy a new one. after an entire argument caused by jackie's suggestion to call her dad, the mechanic told them he'll take his payment in two tickets to the concert, if anyone was willing to give theirs away. maeve felt bad, knowing how much her friends wanted to go, so she suggested giving hers away. 'no', steven protested instantly. he realized the words left his mouth a little to abrupt so he shook his head, trying to collect himself, 'i mean... i'll give mine too, man, and we can try to sneak in together. we're the only ones cool enough to do that anyway', he says with a smirk, trying to play it cool.

maeve was slightly surprised, but she knew he was right. if anyone could sneak into a concert, it would be them two. so they gave their tickets and went back on their way to milwaukee. in the car, hyde told maeve about this backstage entry at the venue which could be their way in.

'steven, higher!', maeve grunted as she tried to boost herself up. steven was holding his hands together as a ladder, trying to help her up the fence. 'yeah, trying', he said, putting in all the effort he could. as he moved his arms slightly upward, he did the mistake of looking up at maeve. he caught a glimpse of what was going on under her skirt (meaning, her black lace panties) and it almost made him drop her all together. he quickly looked away, feeling something weird stirring inside of him. maeve finally climbed up the fence. she rested on it, looking back at steven, who was red as a tomato.

'what's up? did you peek under my skirt?', she asked playfully... and completely oblivious.
