"I see, so these two were uninvolved in this incident then?" Crowley asked me as I finished retelling the events that led up to now, minus the fact Ace had run off.
"Yes. It was my lack of judgment, which caused the Chandelier to fall. While I caught it before it hit the ground, I'm afraid that the gemstone in the middle was cracked when I caught it." I said as I bowed to him apologetically.
Crowley sighed.
"That chandelier has been up since the opening of this school. It was made by a famous artificer. Not only that, it's a magical chandelier, powered by a magical energy source, so the candles would have burned for all eternity." Crowley explained.
"If the stone is the power source, could it not be replaced?" I asked.
"A magestone cannot be easily replaced. I fear the candles of this majestic chandelier may never burn again..."
"If you don't mind my asking, in terms of material, how similar is it to an ordinary gemstone?" I asked, confusing Crowley.
"The material is roughly the same. The main difference is that they can channel magic more than any other type available, thus their name." Crowley said, crossing his arms.
I nodded.
"I may be able to repair it then." I said as I walked back towards the cracked Magestone.
Staring at it for a moment, I judged its quality before placing my hand over the large crack.
"What's she doing?" Deuce asked.
"No clue. She's probably just stalling at this point." Ace said as Grim watched in curiosity.
"Mend." I commanded as geo energy filled the crack, forming into identical material as it fused into the once damaged gemstone.
I wasn't sure how well this would work, as I had used elemental energy to fix it rather than this world's equivalent, but it seemed to have worked well.
Watching as the lights flickered a few times before they stayed on for good, I turned to Crowley.
"Once again, I must apologize for this inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding, Headmage." I said as Crowley stared at the Chandelier in shock.
"I would put it back up myself, but I'm afraid I'm gonna to have to leave that to you, as I'm only good at repairing stones and minerals, and handiwork isn't something I'm familiar with." I said as Crowley nodded.
"Very well! Seeing as you have saved a priceless relic of this school from becoming mere scraps, I shall overlook this incident, for I am gracious!" He said as I nodded.
"Gracious indeed." I said with a small smile.
"Trappola, be sure to complete your punishment!" Crowley called before taking his leave.
I released a sigh as he left, heading over to check on Xiao, who stood behind Ace and Deuce now.
"You're not hurt, are you?" I asked in concern.
He shook his head.
"Good. I'm glad." I said, placing a hand on his head."
