"I'm homesick all the time.
I just don't know where home is. There's this promise of happiness somewhere out there. I know it, I can even feel it sometimes. But it's like chasing the moon - just when I think I have it, it disappears
into the horizon."

☼ WELLS ☼
WELLS MICHA JAHA, IN ALL OF HIS SEVENTEEN YEARS OF GLORY, NEVER, NOT ONCE, HAD AN ORIGINAL THOUGHT. He never had a rebellious streak twice as long as his life. Never had the mouth of a sailor, or found much joy in breaking the law. Most of all, he had never dishonored his family legacy; not once. In fact, most of Wells' friends would tell him he honored his name more than most people honored even their most basic of needs. A straight-A student. A rule follower. A shoo-in for a council seat one day.
For you see, Wells Jaha, above all else, was his father's son; and his father was the most important man in their world. Chancellor of the Ark, the space station Wells' ancestors escaped to after a nuclear apocalypse destroyed the once-inhabited Earth. Rendering every living soul damned, and Wells family was one of the lucky few to have skills that deemed them worthy of salvation.
He was told his great, great grandparents were some sort of scientists with NASA. Sent into space to look for another inhabitable planet, but declared the last members of humanity with the other twelve space stations from around the world.
He was told that his existence was a miracle. One he intended to honor every morning. You see, Wells and his dad had a plan for his life. Plans for Wells to continue the legacy carved in blood by his ancestors and fortified by his grandfather, and become the next chancellor of the Ark. The third generation of Jaha men to reach for not just the stars but the future of mankind. The goal was all that mattered. The future Wells was supposed to have. The one that would make his father the proudest.
For Thelonious Jaha was a hard man to impress. So little rarely did. Not when he was the most successful person aboard the Ark. Not when Wells's general interests did little to promote his future career as chancellor. The teenage boy was rarely outspoken. Rarely inspiring to a mass of people . . . And most of all not all that interest in the power the throne of his father could give Wells one day.
