Chapter 10
Not the Belt
The police took us down to the station to get a gist on what had happened. The stupid thing is we didn't even get out of the station until 10 pm!
"Have a good night kiddos. Thanks for all the info." An officer said, holding the door to the station open for us.
"Tch, didn't have a choice." Bakugou rudely muttered at the officer exiting the building.
"Bakugou, you can't say things like that to people! One day you're going to say something like that to the wrong person." I shouted after him.
He chuckled in a mocking way, "Like hell that'll ever happen princess."
Shoto frowned and slightly bowed at the officer, "It was no problem, sorry about those two. Have a good night."
My eyes widened in sheer horror at the realization I had forgotten to thank the officer so I ran back over, "I'm SO sorry, I should have already thanked you but then Bakugou was being an ass- Oh my god, please excuse my language-" The officer cut me off, "Don't worry about it kiddo, I should be the one thanking you."
My cheeks burnt in embarrassment, "Right, oh my god I-I mean thank you sir." I bowed down as far as I could quickly, then hurriedly shuffled off.
The moment I caught up with Bakugou he bursted out into laughter.
"What's so funny!?" I questioned, my cheeks still slightly red from embarrassing myself moments prior.
He didn't answer my question and replied with something completely different, "Has your entire life been one pathetic awkward phase? Jesus you stuttered like you were in a Wattpad story back there!" He exclaimed, beginning to laugh again.
"What!? No, I'm not awkward, nor have I gone through an awkward phase!" I retorted.
In response Shoto began to laugh as well. I tried pouting, but I couldn't suppress the smile that was making its way upon my face. I too bursted out into laughter alongside them.
I fiddled with the key and eventually got it into the lock. The front door to our home creaked as I tried to quietly open it since it was now 10:30 pm.
Once Shoto and I stepped into the house, we were greeted by my father sitting in a chair with a bright lamp to his left, an angry look plastered on his face. It looked like he had been waiting for us.
The smiles we had on our faces from the walk home with Bakugou immediately subsided once our gaze fell upon him.
"What in the fuckery. Where the hell have you two been!?" My father barked.
"We were at the police station." I retorted in a mundane tone so I could hopefully stay on my father's good side as I've been trying to for the past week. I mean if I don't want to be grounded even longer this is what I have to do.
A look of confusion mixed with his anger sprawled across his face, "The police station!? He muttered curses under his breath and pressed a hand to his face, "if you two don't have a good excuse I swear to god I'm going to go grab my belt and ground you both for eternity."
Oh god, not the belt. You don't know pain until the #2 Hero smacks you with that leather belt he hangs on his bedroom door.
"I-it's not like that father!" I nervously exclaimed, faking an innocent tone. "Villains showed up to the USJ during school today so we had to give a report to the police so they could build a case." Hopefully that was enough to not get bruises on my booty cheeks.
He raised an eyebrow, his anger slowly fizzling out. "Shoto, why didn't you respond to the messages I sent you regarding your whereabouts? You're excused from this Himari since your phone is still taken away."
