To say Fred and George were on board with Hailee's plan, would be an understatement. So much an understatement in fact, that it would be offending to the twins if you didn't believe they jumped on the chance to tell Umbridge to screw off —especially after Hailee told them what the Runes they had watched Hermione erratically sketch on their common room floor was.
Sadly, however, while Fred and George began to reek a small slice of trouble for Umbridge, Hailee had told Hermione she would not be participating in this round of hide-and-seek with the girl.
Hermione had been devastated, pleading with Hailee until she was forced to say she would teach Hermione, Ron, and a select few others that Hermione chose.
Malfoy had ripped her an entire new one for agreeing to teach another batch of Gryffindors —his language was less than tasteful, especially when Hailee said she had agreed to begin teaching another select few from the other two Houses."I can't just let them all fail!" Hailee had yelled at him. "We've got Slytherin —why can't I help the other Houses?!"
"You're a fucking freak, Potter! Do you honestly believe it'll stop at one or five people?!" Malfoy had yelled back. "You're such a disappointment that you can't even say no to the mudblood—"
"Watch how you speak about Hermione—"
"Piss off! I'll call the bitch whatever I want!"Crabbe and Goyle had been forced to separate the two when fists and kicks began to fly between the two.
Hailee had gained a cut on her eyebrow, slicing through the brown of her skin and leaving a thin sliver of pink along with a broken lip and bruised cheekbone. Malfoy had gained a black eye, split lip and dislocated jaw.
The wounds had been nearly healed by morning, thanks to the new wards Hailee had placed across the entirety of Hogwarts. This, however, didn't stop Umbridge from stopping the two and forcing them to lie about the injuries. Snape hadn't been fooled and had pulled the truth out of them where he proceeded to give them both detention for fighting.Whether Umbridge was here or not, Snape was continuously relentless.
Marvolo, to Hailee's surprise, had left the morning after the last Quidditch game. She hadn't even noticed he had stayed after dinner —which Greengrass had lectured her on.
"You've got to be more aware of your surroundings, Hailee. What if he had been a criminal coming to kill you or something?"
"I'd say good luck. If Voldemort can't kill me, I doubt one of his minions could."Another fight had insinuated between Malfoy and Hailee after that comment, leading to Crabbe and Goyle forcing them apart once more. Snape had, again, given them detention but taken no points. Umbridge had, again, asked where they had gotten their new injuries, which both seamlessly lied through their teeth about.
It was now two months later, the weather was steadfast in changing from its glum and chilly airs to the springs windy and bright skies.
Hailee very much liked the change, taking in the sun whenever she got a chance.•••
"Today we will be testing your individual Polyjuice potions." Snape was saying at the front of his class. "You will each take a portion of your partners hair, trust your potions will not send you to the Hospital Wing and will turn you into your partner. I will be coming around, grading how well the Polyjuice potion has taken to your forms."
Polyjuice potion had been one of the last potions Snape had announced they'd be making. It was also a potion Hailee, Ron and Hermione were fairly familiar with.
Hailee stared at the gross green of her individual potion. The simmering charm continuing to work its magic in keeping the potion at just the right stage.
Taking one of her two vials, Hailee scooped a heavy dose into the first, writing on a piece of tape for Snapes personal testing on how well the potion had been made. Before she scooped another heavy dose of the thick liquid into her second vial.
