Vampires Everywhere

It's been two weeks since we moved to Santa Carla. My time was spent divided, days with Madison and days with Marko. Madison mostly because I was with her either during the day or if we got placed on a night shift. What confused me though is how I never saw the boys during the day. Maybe they were just extremely busy, who knows. I had grown more closer to Marko, I was falling for him. Hard. Madison knew, she saw it every time the boys came in the diner and how we'd look at each other or communicate. She encouraged me to 'make a move'  but I can't.

"What time do you have work today?" My dad asked. I took a seat and began eating my cereal.

"I'm on night shift so seven. But Madison won't be there" I replied with a sigh.

"How come?"

"She had to fill in for someone who called in sick this morning" I explained.

"Aaaa so they've separated Tweedle Dee and Tweedle dum" my dad shocked. I looked up at him, my mouth hanging slightly.

"You're not funny" I shot back.

"Right I've got to leave for work in 10 minutes, are you going to be ok?" My dad slipped on his coat. He was so protective of me, even more so since we moved here.

"I'll be fine, I'll probably watch tv or something" I told him.

"Okay, well I should be back around 5, so I'll probably catch you before you leave" He grabbed his keys off of the table. "I love you"

"Love you too dad" he kissed my cheek and left.

I finished eating my cereal and placed the now empty bowl into the sink. I grabbed a blanket that draped over the back of the couch and curled up with it. 'The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air' was on a re run and the only interesting thing to watch during the day so I decide on that. Half way through, my eyes grew heavy. I tried to keep them open but sleep soon took over me.

I threw my shirt over my head and took one last look in the mirror. Eh, good enough. I decided to curl my hair and put it up in a Pamela Anderson styled bun. I grabbed my bag, placed it over my shoulder and headed outside towards my dad's car. He offered to give me a lift to work. I saw that the place was rammed once we finally arrived. I spotted Jay, my boss, waiting inside.

"Right on time, I'm pleased" Jay greeted with a friendly smile.

"You know me" I giggled, sitting my bag in my locker.

"Are you gonna survive without Maddison?" Jay asked, jokingly.

"I'll manage but my heart is broken!" I dramatically gripped my chest causing Jay to burst out laughing. He walked into the kitchen and I took my place at the till.

The diner had never really been this busy since I started working here. Jay explained to me that this morning it was fine, but round about 4pm they all started pulling in and wouldn't stop. As the night went on, the crowd started to die down, making my job a lot more calmer. I just finished placing money into a till when I sensed a figure standing in front of me.

"Hi, welcome to Jay's diner how can I...oh hey" I smiled. Marko leant against the counter, smirking at me, as usual.

"You look good" He complimented, looking me up and down. I felt myself blush. "And I like this hairstyle, it's different"

"I do try"  I giggled, resting my head in my hand.

"Wanna hang out when your shift ends?" My smile instantly dropped. I really did want to hang out with him.

"I want too, but Jay's got me working late tonight and I promised my dad I'd be home as soon as my shift ends. He's paranoid" I answered with a hint of sadness.

"Can't you get off early?"

"I wish I could, I really want to hang out with you" I sighed. This sucks.

"Fine! But you owe me a date tomorrow night" Marko demands. I grinned and nodded. He reached over and pulled me into a hug, which I eagerly returned. I felt so safe wrapped in his arms, I didn't want him to let go.

"I'll see you tomorrow then"  I spoke.

"Yes you will" Marko winked at me before leaving the diner.

"You're free to go" I heard Jay say as I cleaned the tables. I looked over at the clock. 1:30. It puzzled me why he stayed open so late, I mean who's eating at 1 in the morning?! I grabbed my things and left, but not before saying goodbye. I pulled out my phone to call my dad to see if he would come pick me up. But there was no answer. He probably fell asleep. I sighed, placing my phone back into my bag and began my journey home.

All of the rides had closed, it was like a ghost town. I hated walking in the dark, I became super paranoid. Anytime I heard a small noise behind me, I'd quickly turn to see if anybody was there. But there wasn't. I finally exited the boardwalk. I had an uneasy feeling that I was being followed. I clung to my bag a little tighter and picked up the pace.

I walked a few more blocks and let out a sigh of relief. I told myself I was being paranoid and to chill out. But at that moment, a hand covered my mouth, another wrapped around my waist. I felt myself being dragged backwards into an alley way. The figure pushed me back against the wall, his hand still over my mouth, but now the figure was in front of me. There was a tiny bit of light, I could see it was a male, who looked to be in his late twenties. A creepy looking guy. Petrified wasn't the word. I began to whimper a little into his hand.

"I'm going to take my hand away from your mouth, if you even think about screaming I'll jam this into you, you got that?" My man instructed. I glanced down and saw he had a pocket knife in this left hand. I decided to do what I was told and behave. I nodded slowly and he moved his hand. I stayed quiet. I felt tears trail down my cheek.

"Good girl" He smiled, lifting his blade and using it to move a bit of my hair that had covered my eye. "Now, give me your money!" He demanded. I carefully reached into my bag and pulled out my purse. He quickly snatched it out of my hand and began pulling out every last bit of money I had. However, he did not look satisfied.

"That's all I have" I told him, my voice shaking.

"It's not enough" I attempted to run of, but he grabbed a hand full of my hair, throwing me to the ground. I cried as he pushed the blade up against my throat.

"Please don't!"

"Shut up bitch!" He spat. "It wasn't enough, so now you're no use to me. I'm going to kill you now, very slowly. I'm going to watch you suffer and I'm going to enjoy it" I closed my eyes and began to pray.

Suddenly, he and his knife were ripped away from me. I scrambled backwards, crying loudly. I heard the man scream and then a snap. I looked up to see what was going on, another figure stood in front of him. The man was then thrown to the floor in front of my feet. I saw his neck was covered in blood. I glanced up and my eyes widened. I couldn't scream, I froze. I looked in horror. There Marko stood, but it was no longer Marko. His eyes were a fiery orange, his mouth smeared with blood. I looked a little closer at his teeth and gulped. Fangs. I gasped, he looked straight out me, a low growl leaving him. I've seen this image in moves and books.

Marko was a vampire. And there was no denying it.
