It has been two days since Lynn Loud's introduction on the courts, and Ella Marin only has one thing on her mind.

How to become the worst tennis player Royal Woods has ever seen.

It's all figured out in her simple 6-step list;

Step 1: Get an acrylic manicure

Step 2: Buy more racket gibbets

Step 3: Forget how to serve

Step 4: Bump down from first place

Step 5: Become partners with Ruby again

Step 6: Become Ruby's partner

So simple!

"What do the first two have to do with anything? Also you're literally obsessed, it's insane", Cady pointed out.

"Yeah, this is crazy work", Presley added.

"Whatever", Ella scoffs, "You guys don't understand my genius". "Yeahh, I don't want to either".

"Once I move down from first, that Lynn whoever can take my spot and I can get my Ruby back!", Ella smiled.

"Your Ruby?", they said in unison, disgusted.

Ella simply rolled her eyes at her friends' remarks. "You guys are supposed to hype me up".

Algebra ended with a ring, and gave way for lunch.

Ella stood in line, annoyed for the entirety of the three minutes she had to stand in it. She was about ready to just leave the line when she saw who was in front of her. Lynn Loud.

"Excuse me, could I cut in front of you in line? It's an emergency!", Ella pleaded towards the girl in front of her. "Uh no. Who do you think you are?", the girl replied. Rude

Ella scoffed and huffed as she waited in line once more, frequently stealing glances towards Lynn.

What's this girl's deal? , Lynn thought to herself as she tried her best to ignore the blonde's presence. Lynn looked back to her, eyeing her up and down with a side eye.

Maybe I should be her friend? Ella thought. But why is she looking at me like that? So, doing the only logical thing, Ella gave Lynn attitude back.

And there they were, two girls staring at each other bitterly in the middle of a cafeteria lunch line.

"So not only do they suck, but they also have terrible personalities", Lynn stated to her two friends as she was mid-chew on her chicken burger.

"So she was just staring at you? I don't know, maybe she wants you", Maddie replied.

Lynn chuckled and tried to brush it off, defending herself by stating the ridiculousness of the situation. 

"Who is this girl anyway?", Margo tried to ask, but really all you could hear was the crunch as she chewed on her fries.

"Don't make it obvious but", Lynn pointed with a head lift and slight disdain.

And of course, both her friends whipped their heads back simultaneously.

Unfortunately for everyone, Ella Marin had turned at just the right moment.

Seeing a whole girl group glaring at you is never a good sign.

"Oh em gosh, look. She's telling her fans about me", Ella joked. "Didn't you just meet? What is she even saying?".

"I don't know, groupies are just always obsessed", Ella rolled her eyes at Lynn as she said this back to Presley.

As Lynn sat in bed, tossing a mini basketball back and forth, she contemplated the earlier day. So annoying. It's Lynn's first week and some walking blonde stereotype already has it out for her. How entitled can one girl be?

The girls hadn't seen each other once the whole next day, thankfully, and it was already the end of the week. That was, however, until practice.

And during practice, Ella decided she would enact her fool-proof plan, and it worked! But except for Coach Solis announcing Lynn as the new best, he awarded the position to Ruby.

So, by default, Lynn Loud and Ella Marin were doubles partners.
