IDUNNA POV

After Maleficent told me the news, I went home to find father. Our home was unfortunately near the evil quartet's: Maleficent, Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil and Jafar. Our house had two wooden doors at the entrance and it had a few large windows that were either tinted yellow or green. There were only two bedrooms in the house and they were small but it was home. The walls were made of stone which provided no warmth but it doesn't bother us as we are Jötuns.

I walked through the wooded doors to find father sat down on his favourite green armchair. He hadn't aged much, maybe a few years, but he still looked 22. He was looking into the fireplace with sombre eyes, he was still mourning the death of mother, after 13 years. I understand, it must have been hard on him to lose one of the only people who cared for him and truly loved him, not see him as a villain, a burden or a monster. He was broken when she died, she helped him think of anything else but a monster. She was the only one who listened to what happened when he fell off the Bifrost. He still has the scars and still gets triggered by the little things. If only Odin would've listened.

'Father' I said, breaking his trance, 'I have been chosen to go to Auradon'

'Yes, Maleficent told me this morning.' He motioned me to sit next to him on the sofa.

'Father, I don't have to go. I want to be here for you. What if he comes back? Who will look after you?'

'I will be fine on my own. It's not the first time and it won't be the last. I want you to go. Lead a better life, there is only so much I can do for you here.'

I  went upstairs to my room to pack the little I had: three shirts, three pairs of pants and my mom's diary that father gifted to me for my thirteenth birthday. I put all of my stuff in a dark green duffel bag and left it in the corner of my room ready to take with me tomorrow. I also packed my guitar. It was hard for father to find me one but somehow he did it. It was a beautiful emerald green with gold accents. Mom taught me music before she died.

I went back downstairs and I saw father holding a little box.

'Idunna, before you go, I wanted to give you something. It was your grandmothers, which she gave to me and now I'm giving to you.' He opened the box which showed a golden necklace with an emerald at it's focus. 'There is something I haven't told you. Something I must confess.'

'What are you hiding?' I asked, I knew he was hiding something ever since I came home.

'Idunna, listen to me carefully, you are different from everyone else on the Isle and most of Auradon. You have magic. I know I should've told you earlier but I was worried I might lose you like I did your mother.'

He paused for a moment, letting me take this new information in.

'This necklace will help you control your abilities until you learn to fully control them. It helped me and it helped your grandmother.'

He picked it up and put it around my neck.

'Thank you father. You showed me colours you know I cant see with anyone else'

I gave him a hug that he desperately needed and left to tell Uma, Gil and Harry the news.
