"What do you mean he's arrested? He didn't do anything"

"Yeah my daddy protected us from Michael"

"If he goes I go"

"No Jasmine I don't want you locked"

"I don't give a damn there not about to lock my baby up and not take me with you"

"I'll call you" he said while they took him away.

I watched as he got in the car and they drove. I went in the living room and put my cell phone by the house phone and waited for the phone to ring. I waited for hours. The phone finally rang.

"Hello?"

"Babe what happened?"

"I can come home but only for bail and I have a court date"

"How much?"

"Just bring 2 million cause there really not gonna let me out since they think I killed him and I keep telling them it was self defense but the judge said she'll let me go with bail but I have a court date"

"That's good..I'm on my way"

He made kissie noises through the phone. And the line clicked. I went upstairs in our closet and went in our safe and grabbed as much money as I can. I put it in a trash bag. I went in the bathroom and took a shower. I got out and brushed my teeth. I put on my white V-neck top, my favorite Roots sweatpants, my tan moccasins, and my hair in a messy bun. I added a headband and my jean vest. It was warm out and it was night so I was good.

"Mommy will be right back if you need anything grandma is downstairs okay?" I kissed there heads.

"Okay"

"Alright Love Y'all"

"Love You Too" they said in unison.

I went downstairs and kissed Mama's cheek and left. I got in Chris's car I threw the money bags in the backseat and got in.

"Why the fuck is his chair so far back?"

I scooted the seat up. I backed out of the driveway and sped to the police station. When I got there I got out the car and grabbed the money and ran in the station. Well more like jogged. I walked to the front desk.

"Bail for Christopher Maurice Brown"

"That's a million dollars"

I slammed the money bags on the table.

"We'll here's Two million...keep the change"

The officer stood up and took the money to the back some where. I stood at the desk and waited. I heard a buzz and saw Chris.

"Baby!!" I jumped in his arms.

"Heyy you did it!"

"I know" I jumped down.

I kissed him.

"I missed you"

"I missed you too"

He grabbed my hand and we walked out.

"You drove my car!?"

"Yep"

"I'm shocked you never wanna drive sports cars"

"Well I wanted to surprise you so..SURPRISE!!"

"I wanna see you drive it" he winked and smacked my ass.
